GWS Paving does driveways, and some of its jobs start with a knock on the door. A recent customer said George came by on their day off, said he had time to squeeze in another project, and by 5pm their gravel driveway was paved; that customer said he stood by his original verbal estimate. The company says it has 15 years in business. A recent customer with a long, sloped driveway said the owners themselves were out doing the work, and that after it rained the water shed right off the new surface. A recent customer who was offered an overlay after a project down the street said they had not thought their driveway was save-able. On Google the company shows 4.9 stars from 61 ratings, and on Thumbtack 5.0 from 8. A 2025 customer said water had constantly run into their garage because of the pitch of the old driveway, and that they re-graded everything so the flooding stopped. A 2025 customer said George suggested restoring their driveway, about 30 years old, with 2 to 2 1/2 inches of asphalt on top of the existing material, and that the job was done in 3 hours. A 2021 customer said the old driveway was ripped out and replaced, and an entry sidewalk was made for the front door where there was none. A 2025 customer suggested telling them where to dump the excess ground they dig up. A recent 1-star customer said a driveway paved two years earlier is completely destroyed and that they wanted to charge full price to fix it. Connecticut lists its home improvement contractor registration, HIC.0651870, as active, held by GWS Paving.
We are genuinely so happy with the job GWS Paving did on our driveway. The before-and-after transformation is incredible. This is a long, sloped driveway that required a significant amount of preparation and hard work—it definitely wasn’t a simple paving job. What impressed us most was seeing the owners themselves out there doing the work. They were incredibly hands-on, worked their tails off, and clearly cared about getting everything right. You could see the pride they take in their work throughout the entire process. The quality really showed after it rained. The water shed right off the driveway exactly as it should, which proves they didn’t just make it look good—they properly graded and pitched it so it functions well, too. That kind of attention to detail matters, especially with a driveway like ours. The finished driveway is smooth, clean, and beautifully done, and it completely transformed the property. We are extremely happy we chose GWS Paving and would absolutely recommend them.

Awesome company. Showed up at my house offering to overlay my driveway after he finished up a project down the street for a great deal. Crew came in, did their work, and the driveway is as beautiful as ever. Did not think the driveway was save-able but I was wrong. Highly recommend.
GWS Paving did a really quick and efficient job on RePaving our Circular driveway. It was an incredibly hot & humid day and the crew was amazing. I recommend them for great prices and excellent work.
