In May 2021 a congregation had its 1833 white oak church floors and chancel restored by H&M; a month later, a homeowner with 140-year-old boards had the same done. Floors people assume are past saving are what this crew is hired for, and the accounts afterwards keep saying the same thing: they look newly installed rather than refinished. The recent jobs run the same way. A February 2026 customer had the living room, dining room, four bedrooms and hallway done, with the crew arriving on time, saying when they were finished for the day and cleaning up each evening. A November 2025 customer who had bought a house built in the 1960s, its floors probably never redone, had them refinished and repaired. Another that month described cracks filled, sanding and several coats of finish, inside the timeframe quoted and at a fair price. In June 2025, old pine flooring was sanded and refinished. They install as well as refinish — a November 2025 customer had hardwood fitted on a staircase, one of two jobs they hired the company for. The business is a two-person sole proprietorship in Lynn, BBB-accredited at A+ since January 2020, with a business start of December 2017 on file. HomeAdvisor shows 4.9 from 59 ratings, 95 per cent of them five stars, with the review bodies it publishes running from May 2021 to February 2023. Some of the claims on that HomeAdvisor page disagree with each other, and they are the ones to pin down before you sign. Its About blurb advertises a 10-year warranty at no extra cost on all services, while the page's own FAQ says the company does not offer warranties. The same blurb says every employee has over 20 years in the trade, against "9 years of experience" elsewhere on the page and the December 2017 start date at the BBB. Customers also deal with a principal they call Hugo, while the BBB profile names the owner as Jose M Melara. Get the estimate in writing with the number of finish coats specified, and ask plainly whether any warranty applies and in what words.
