Highlights
- Same-day callouts — a 2023 pool pump and heater fixed that day
- Reasonable pricing — named directly in a 2023 review
- Permit trail — 25 permitted projects listed under the owner's name
- Tangled licence listing — one number printed under three different types
- Architect registration — an unrelated credential attached to an electrical business
- Thin written record — three written accounts against six Google ratings
- Unwritten ratings — the 4.3 average sits below every readable review
A pool pump and heater died mid-summer; the call went out to Haggerty and someone was there the same day. That 2023 account, signed off with a simple "Thanks Jim", is the only detailed thing anyone has written about this North Reading electrician — and Jim is James M. Haggerty, the owner. The rest of the written record is two lines long: "Great service" in June 2026 and "Fast service reasonable prices" in 2023. Google's 4.3 comes from six ratings, so half of the people who scored the business left no words at all, and the three that are readable are all five stars — which means the unwritten ones are pulling the average down. Twenty-five permitted jobs sit behind that on BuildZoom, the ordinary volume of a one-man electrical shop. The licence question is the thing to settle before hiring. BuildZoom prints the number 8231 three separate times under three different headings — as an electrician's licence it calls verified and active, as a Master Electrician licence marked active while simultaneously carrying a July 2016 expiry, and as an inactive, once-cancelled ARCHITECT registration. An architect's registration is not an electrical credential, and none of the three was confirmed against the state here. A fair call for small residential electrical work on a same-day basis. Ask for the licence number directly and check it with the Board of State Examiners of Electricians yourself; the directory listing is too tangled to rely on.

My pool pump and heater stopped working this summer. I called Haggerty Electric. They came the same day, fixed the problem and we were able to heat and clean the pool. They were great. Thanks Jim.
