Four directories, high marks on every one of them, and nothing written by a customer since December 2019. Happy Painters, Corp. works out of 42 Loomis Street in Malden under Noe Gonzalez; Angi and HomeAdvisor both list nine years of experience, free estimates, and interior and exterior painting as the whole of the trade. When customers were writing, they were consistent. Through 2018 and 2019 the same shape repeats: a 620-square-foot condo done walls, trim and ceilings in two and a half days; a 500-square-foot family room with 19 windows, then the exterior trim, then the dining room, all for the same homeowner; hallways, a stairway and five hung doors across three days. A 2018 customer had raccoon staining on a composite ceiling and wrote that the finished ceiling looked better than new. An interior designer, also writing in 2018, put them on her own client jobs. The same names keep coming up — Noe, Cesar, Miguel — which usually means the crew that quotes is the crew that shows up. The complaints are few and specific. In September 2018 a customer gave four and a half stars: on time, professional, nice work, but paint spots on the floor and a bathroom sink used to clean brushes that she was left to scrub. The company answered her publicly, apologized, and said she would be credited. Another 2018 customer needed the crew back to finish detail work on a front door and said they returned. The thing to settle before calling is paperwork. BuildZoom lists a Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration for the company, #193788, and reports it expired on 28 March 2023 and was still showing expired when the site checked in April 2026 — that is the directory's own record, not a registry check made here, but it is a fair question to put to them directly. Massachusetts exempts interior-painting-only contractors from HIC registration, so the issue is not whether they need one; it is why a registration they once carried lapsed, and what insurance stands behind the work now. Sources also disagree on where they sit: Houzz places the company in Brighton with posted projects in Newton, Wayland, Wellesley, Arlington, Kingston and Bartlett, NH, while Angi, HomeAdvisor and BuildZoom all give the Malden address. For a straightforward interior repaint around Greater Boston, what those customers described is specific and consistent. Treat it as history rather than a current read: ask for jobs finished in the last year, ask for the registration and a certificate of insurance, and confirm the crew is still the one those reviewers met.
