HARP Home Services is a Windsor, Connecticut heating, cooling, plumbing and electrical company with 4.5 stars from 4610 ratings on Google, and the people who write about it split between praise for named technicians and frustration with the office. Its BBB grade is A+, and the company says it has been in business 34 years. The technicians are what customers single out. A long-running Google reviewer wrote in October 2026 that Eric C. found a leaking buffer tank on a Combi system, researched and found the replacement part, and that Luis and Tanner followed up quickly; the same reviewer describes cancelled appointments in December 2024 before Eric's visits. In July 2026, John J walked a house with a customer and isolated a fault between split systems and their SenSi controllers. A March 2026 customer said Chris Hanson cleaned a 30-year-old furnace without pressuring them to replace it. A May 2026 review describes a two-day mini-split replacement with five indoor units, a compressor and all the piping. The complaints are about selling, scheduling and follow-through. An October 2026 customer paid $318 for an annual furnace service, was told the furnace needed replacing, and got a second opinion that it needed only a primary control box. A June 2026 customer who signed a 25k contract for 5 mini splits wrote that no permit had been pulled weeks later and the install date kept slipping. Customers in October 2025 and January 2026 said paid maintenance appointments kept being cancelled; the January 2026 customer counted three cancellations. On Reddit in 2025, commenters called the prices high, one saying a quote was double a competitor's, and another said that after an annual service they were billed over $6,000 in repairs and the company would not honor their warranty after merging with Solvit. Its Connecticut HVAC license HTG.0388411-S1 is active.
“This company recommended I install a wall mounted combo heater/furnace, and has since refused to service it.”
“I got quoted north of 20k from harp and call the bee, no idea how those people get jobs with those prices.”
“It only took 3 years for that reputation to not only go away but now known for being bad, just all around you name it, bad.”
“Harp came out and the price was literally double what Dynamic Heating in Plainville quoted me. I would never go with them with their high-pressure sales”
“After our annual tech service, we were given a bill for over $6,000 in repairs needed with no warranty available because the company merged with Solvit. They will not honor the warranty we have.”
Chris was fantastic, very personable and honest. Though he wasn't able to help me with my issue, he was very helpful.
Huge shoutout to our technician Eric. On the annual servicing he proactively identified and corrected a significant issue related to a prior install. He’s a very nice guy and an excellent communicator. Nice to see HARP making such a great hire!
John Jillson was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. He diagnosed the issue with my furnace immediately and explained why the issue occurred and tips to prevent it from recurring
My technician was friendly, prompt and professional. He checked an additional 2 rooms that get colder than normal with my complimentary HVAC heating portion of his visit. Loved the in-depth documentation and burner readings, especially since this was a 1yr old unit - now we have a good baseline. Thank you!
December 2024: One star for them, 5 for the technician I removed years of reviews because I ran out of space. I also posted this review but it must have ended up separately. I had booked my fall/winter services about 6 months ago for October, only to be called the afternoon before to be told they did not have enough technicians. I was rescheduled for last week; the first week in December. Usually, I get both a text and an email reminder and the day before I had nothing so in the mid afternoon I called only to be told by the service that they had been instructed by the manager to “bump“ all scheduled appointments because of the expected cold snap. While this shows some concern to make sure that they can serve people in an emergency there were no calls or emails or texts, alerting customers to this. Meanwhile, I continue to see ads on television and I get bombarded by emails telling me to schedule all sorts of things because they are there to help me. This is ridiculous and absolutely dreadful customer service. I’ve received no callbacks from the company since. Since they were sold and bought by a national chain/company things have gotten much worse.I would advise you to be very careful when using them. It is difficult because each company claims to have their own favorite equipment/manufacturers and it can be difficult to find someone else to service that material. But again, be very careful. Well, though I never heard from a supervisor, I got a call from a very kind Nicole on a Sunday at around 6 PM… And today a wonderful technician, Eric C. called about half an hour before the start of the time slot and was here on the dot. He was VERY thorough and explained everything. I was very pleased though the delays to get here were a problem. 5 stars for his work, April 2025: And now for A/C maintenance. Eric C. Again… on time, neat, thorough.. took care of everything. Five stars for him. So far things have improved. Oct 2025: Eric again, consistently on time, efficient, thoughtful: kept me posted… and pics and paperwork via emial right after. April 2026: Sigh. My previously expensive whole-house American Standard A/C died at just under 10 years. NOT what I expect and it is disappointing to find out that HARP is not surprised. However, the tech, Michael, was wonderful and went through my options with me without pressure and clearly and calmly. Let me add that I was able to get a visit the same day by Glenn, who was similarly calm and very well informed and helpful. Things are MUCH more expensive now than a decade ago, but I want to avoid even further increases in the near future. While other HVAC companies show up with AI searches, I have tried to contact them for a friend with disabilities and none of them are that responsive. I think that HARP continues to work on improving responsiveness and the folks who have come here have always been helpful. Sigh. Items mislabeled at the facility meant the kind driver delivered some things that were NOT needed and had to be picked up AND the very neat, nice and hardworking crew are now just waiting for the pad (and thermostats) that was NOT delivered and arestill not here almost five hours later. (And DID arrive… at 12:45 PM with the original delivery at 7 and the crew not long after) October 2026 It’s because of technicians like Eric C that I stay with HARP. Eric is incredibly trustworthy and thorough. He showed up today and with very close attention realized that a buffer tank, an item that is not all that common in systems but is necessary for my Combi system to function properly, was leaking oddly. He spent time doing everything he could researching what might be needed and even did all the work to find a replacement part. (Along with the full service to the two heating systems) Because he’s not a plumber he couldn’t do the work himself, but he did all the prep work. Luis and Tanner followed up quickly and I was very pleased with their work as well. Just sterling examples of great employees doing great work.
