Hawkes Tree Service lists tree removal, stump grinding, lot clearing, pest management and emergency storm work on its website, and the company says it has been in business 21 years. The biggest job on its Google page is an emerald ash borer case. A recent customer said Hawkes "inoculated" 32 infected trees and removed 20 more that were dead or dying, with the inoculation done by boring holes at the base of each tree and injecting a chemical over almost two days. About half the trees were in the back yard, and that customer said the team used a long crane to lift them over the house. The trees were mostly chipped on site and the chips carried away, and the larger trunks were removed. The customer said the place was left in good shape apart from some unavoidable marks from the heavy crane. Smaller jobs get the same treatment. For one ash tree, a recent customer said James visited soon after the request, gave an estimate and did the preventive treatment the same day. A recent 4-star customer said the job got done and they were pleased with the results, but wrote that the crew helping Ben "does just as little as possible."
“Licensed arborists with Hawkes Tree Service will use a combination of soil injections and an organic spray referred to as spinosad.”
“His company, Hawkes Tree Service, this year adopted mechanical processing with the addition of a Komatsu swing machine paired with a Log Max harvester attachment.”
. It is sad that crew helping Ben does just as little as possible and results in Ben leaving his current job. I know this is a problem with other firms and Jarrod doing his best with what he can hire. This job got done and we are pleased with the results.
I reached out to Hawkes Tree Service because we have an ash tree and I wanted emerald ash borer preventive treatment. James visited my house soon after the request; I then got an estimate; and he did the treatment the same day. So far I'm very satisfied.
Hawkes "inoculated" 32 trees infected with emerald ash borer and removed an additional 20 trees that were dead or dying because of that same disease. They did a great job. The inoculation involved boring holes at the base of the trees and injecting a chemical. The process took almost two days. The technician really knew what he was doing. And the tree removal only took half a day. About half of the trees were in the back yard and the team used a long crane to lift them over the house so they would not have to drag or carry them around. It was very dramatic, but they really knew what they were doing. The team was quick efficient and friendly. They chipped most of the trees on site and carried the chips away. They removed the larger trunks that were too big to chip. They cleaned up thoroughly and except for some unavoidable marks left by the heavy crane they left the place in good shape. I was very satisfied.
