In a January 2025 Google review, a customer wrote that their skylight was leaking two days before New Year's Eve; Jeff at HDC called back the very next day, fit them in that day, and Jeff and his team removed the skylight, shingled the area and sealed it up on the inside. HDC Construction is based on Cemetery Road in Rumford, Maine, and a May 2022 reviewer, who called it HDC Roofing, named Jeff as the owner. It holds 4.7 stars from 37 Google ratings, and an October 2026 reviewer wrote simply, "These guys do great work." A May 2022 Google review describes a huge pine crushing the reviewer's camp roof while they were away. Jeff got the tree off the roof, secured the hole with plywood and ice & water shield, crawled under the camp to check the footings and sent pictures, "all this at a really fair price too." In April 2022 a customer wrote that Jeff came out quickly to repair their roof in Bethel and sent pictures and updates at every step because they could not be there. A February 2024 reviewer described a piece of their garage roof and siding flapping loose in a major wind and rain storm; even with damage across three towns, HDC fit them in, and the roof was repaired with "zero leaks." In a December 2021 review of a roof replacement, a customer wrote that Jeff and his assistants protected the yard and home, picked up "even the smallest bits," and finished exactly when promised. In February 2024 a customer wrote that they hired Jeff to install three double wide windows, and that the windows went in quickly with all the wood for the trim and sills custom milled. Another February 2024 reviewer hired Jeff over the past year for roofing, siding, a deck, window replacement and finished carpentry, wrote that he "mills his own wood," and now calls him "my personal GC and home consultant." An April 2023 reviewer, after several outrageous quotes from other companies, wrote that Jeff did the home repairs "for a fraction of the price," flagged back-ordered materials immediately, and that his crew left the house and yard clean. In a February 2023 one-star Google review, a customer wrote that he showed up with his six-year-old kid, left locked in the vehicle for several hours, then got paid, promised to come back to finish the job and never came back or answered phone or text. An April 2022 one-star reviewer waiting on a new roof wrote that the first two appointments were missed and the third was late, that timelines of November, December and then January passed, that the price kept being renegotiated, and that pushing for a firmer date drew "a very unprofessional 4 part text." That reviewer also allowed that he "seems like he's knowledgeable and like roofing is a passion."

My skylight was leaking two days before New Year’s Eve. I called Jeff at HDC and left a message. I received a call back the very next day and said he could fit us in that day. After he assessed the issue, we determined that the skylight should be removed or replaced . I opted to have it removed. Jeff and his team removed the skylight, shingled the area and sealed up on the inside. I was so pleasantly surprised that he would be willing to take care of me so quickly, especially on New Year’s Eve. I will definitely use them again.
I hired Jeff to install 3 double wide windows. They installed the windows quickly and custom milled all the wood for the trim and sills. Looks beautiful! They did the work fast and with a focus on detail. The site was cleaned up everyday. Jeff kept in constant contact regarding his schedule. There is no doubt I will be hiring him again for additional work I need. I highly recommend Jeff and his team!
I engaged Jeff of HDC over the past year to do lots of interior and exterior work on our property such as roofing, siding, deck, window replacement and finished carpentry. I'm not from the construction industry, so I wanted to hire someone that I could trust to educate me about the work that needed to be done. Jeff has a natural talent to look at a specific project, assess the status and cause of a property's condition (i.e., previous work not done correctly), then propose ideas and options for how best to renovate or build new, and all within a reasonable budget. More importantly, Jeff has a great understanding of materials, mills his own wood, and fussy about doing things right, better known as quality. He's now my personal GC and home consultant. During a major wind/rain storm a piece of our garage roof/siding unhinged flapping in the wind ~ I contacted HDC Construction and even though there was major damage throughout 3 towns with his workload overflowing he managed to fit us in ~ roof was repaired in a timely fashion with all damage repaired and zero leaks ~ I would recommend HDC Construction
