Heney Construction Co Inc

Heney Construction is a Douglas, Massachusetts general contractor and remodeler that's been operating since 1975 — 51 years under the same family, led by president Dan Heney with Tom Heney as project manager, according to its Better Business Bureau file, which rates the company A+ with no complaints on record. The one written account on file is not encouraging: in a 2018 review, a buyer who purchased a new home from the company described a builder that didn't honor the warranty on its properties, called the sales contract "useless" once the deal closed, and was hard to reach afterward — screening calls and ignoring emails. The buyer said other home buyers in Douglas would tell a similar story. There isn't much else in the public record to weigh that account against — the company's own website carries only a photo gallery, with no stated services, service area, or history. Worth asking directly about warranty terms and post-sale responsiveness before signing anything, especially given how thin the outside record is.
