A heating repair followed by a check-in text is one customer's account of Hintze HVAC; other homeowners describe installation problems and unanswered calls. The Harwich company offers heating and cooling installation, repairs, maintenance, heat pumps and duct cleaning, and says it has served Cape Cod since 2017. Massachusetts registry records show active HVAC licence 16758-SM-A held by Erico F Hintze. In a December 2025 Google review, a customer whose heat was giving trouble during 20-degree weather said Erico answered immediately, came out as soon as he could and texted a few hours after leaving to check that everything was good. A January 2026 reviewer described an arrival within hours and a quickly diagnosed and repaired issue. An October 2025 customer said Erico identified a thermostat and bad plug as the problems while the furnace itself was in good shape; they also praised his team's duct cleaning without leaving a mess. Installation accounts include a July 2025 customer's replacement of old mini-split systems with a new Daikin AC, and a June 2025 review praising installation of a heat pump in a Barnstable home. In an August 2024 account, another customer said Erico got a mini-split running after a different installer had left incomplete work and leaking lines. The customer described an arrival within two working days and a few hours of work at a price they considered fair. Two homeowners describe trouble with Hintze's own installations. In a September 2025 review, a customer said one zone of a two-zone system failed after about 18 months. They said a charged thermostat replacement worked for only two months and that subsequent calls were not returned; half the system had been down for a month when they wrote. The reviewer reported being told the business was too small and busy to fix the work. A January 2024 reviewer alleged damaged woodwork during a crawl-space installation, Mitsubishi units that did not qualify for the Massachusetts energy credit, and inadequate cooling. They said repeated requests for a return visit went unanswered, and reported that a technician from EF Winslow diagnosed excessive coolant. These are the customer's allegations. A May 2024 customer described a different repair experience: after a Sunday-night AC breakdown, Eric answered the call, arrived early on Memorial Day, fixed the unit and charged no extra holiday fee.
Equipe muito profissional, serviço de qualidade, pontualidade com horário. Super recomendo
Hintze was great, answered the phone on the first ring, was at the house in a matter of hours, and found and fixed the issue quickly. Highly recommend.
I was having trouble with my heat and wasn’t able to get the company that did the installation to come. I decided to call Erico, I met him a while ago and he gave me his card. I’m very happy I did! He answered the call immediately and came out as soon as he could. It was during 20 degree weather so you can imagine how busy he was. A few hours after he left he texted to see if everything was good. Very impressed with the Hintze HVAC!
Erico has provided excellent service. Was able to determine the issues which were a rogue thermostat and a bad plug while the furnace was okay, and on good shape. We had never cleaned our duct work and his team did a great job while respecting our house and creating no mess. Recommend over some of the more corporate companies, one of which was not able to determine the issues!
Erik Hintze is great. He does both our A/C and furnace tuneups. He's reliable, shows up, knowledgable, and reasonably priced. Highly recommnded.
