We had an absolutely outstanding experience with Ross Prevett and HomeSpec. I genuinely cannot recommend Ross highly enough. We were inspecting a large, nearly 100-year-old home, so we wanted someone who would be exceptionally thorough. Ross exceeded our expectations in every respect. He spent hours going through the property, was incredibly methodical, and deployed an impressive array of technology and testing equipment throughout the inspection. It was honestly fascinating watching him work. Nothing felt rushed or superficial. What impressed me most, though, was Ross himself. He is knowledgeable without being alarmist, explains things in a way that is easy to understand, and gives you a very clear sense of what actually matters versus the normal imperfections that come with an older home. He was patient with every question we asked and made us feel completely comfortable throughout the process. His follow-up was equally impressive. The inspection report was extremely detailed and useful, and the additional testing was handled professionally and thoroughly. We came away feeling like we had an unusually complete understanding of the house we were buying. On top of all of that, Ross is simply a really good guy. Friendly, honest, thoughtful, and clearly takes a tremendous amount of pride in doing his job well. When you’re making one of the biggest purchases of your life, having someone like Ross in your corner is invaluable. If you’re buying a home in Connecticut, I would recommend Ross and HomeSpec without hesitation. I would use him again in a heartbeat. Truly exceptional.

We engaged Ross (Prevett) to inspect our first proper home in Greenwich, having moved from an apartment in Manhattan. Not only was he punctual, polite, thorough, and responsive, but he had the patience to field all of our home-related questions for the better part of a day. He sent a preliminary report within 24 hours that was incredibly user-friendly, color coding issues by degrees of severity and with included photos and descriptions that really captured/relayed the areas of concern. I could not recommend Ross more highly. Hopefully we won't be moving any time soon, but if we do he will be our first call for any inspection.
