InSpectit LLC inspects homes, and its website lists a service area that runs from Danbury and Ridgefield to Milford and New Haven. The company says it has been in business for 30 years. One recent job went past a standard inspection. David did thermal mapping and moisture meter testing of water intrusion from a solar panel installation, fit in a further inspection after a storm revealed more water, pointed that customer to areas of visible mold for further testing, and delivered a full report with recommendations the next day. After a recent inspection, David went over all the findings with the customer, and the report arrived within days with photos using a pointer finger that helped that customer explain issues to different crews. A recent customer said the report helped decide which items to tackle first and which could wait. A recent customer said the price was very reasonable and the report was easy to navigate online. A 2026 customer who had known David Harter for nearly 20 years said he had done renovation and repair projects for them before their home inspection, and that he called and came by to check heat straps he had installed. A 2026 customer buying in the Danbury area said Dave sent a list of contractors in different services they might need. A 2025 first-time buyer said he put the inspection on the books two days after the call, within their five-day contingency window. A 2024 customer who had been dealing with incomplete projects from a contractor said the company's report on that project ran 40 pages, organized from roof to basement with photos. A 2023 customer who bought a house in Ridgefield said he scanned the electric panel, oil tank, roof, water system and heater, and went up to the roof and attic. A 2024 reviewer wrote that Dave, the owner, had provided multiple free home inspections for Housatonic Habitat for Humanity.

Dave was exellent! Extremely knowledgeable, thorough and detail oriented throughout the home inspection process. He took time to explain everything to us as we were going through the inspection. His final report was detailed and clear, again thanks to his expert review alongside of us during the process. We felt much more comfortable proceeding with the home buying process by working with Dave. Definitely would recommend him to anyone looking for a great home inspector!

David did an amazing home inspection a day provided a detailed report that was easy to navigate online. The price was very reasonable and he was able to accommodate us quick! Highly recommend his services!
David was great to work with. He was very thorough with the inspection and kept me informed along the way. We went over all the findings afterwards and it was all reflected in a thorough report within days. The use of a pointer finger in pictures helped tremendously when trying to explain issues to different crews.
David is the best home inspector one can ask for. He is experienced, thorough, loves what he does, and genuinely cares about his clients, their wellbeing, and the condition of their (future) home. We would not have been equipped to complete our home buying process and take care of our new home without his knowledge and expertise.
