J.W. & D.E. Ryan says it has been Vergennes' family-owned plumbing, heating and air conditioning contractor since 1887, more than 130 years by its own count. A recent customer had a 20-year-old central AC system replaced, a job that needed custom ductwork to adapt the system for a heat pump and air exchanger, done in crawl-space conditions. That customer praised the demolition and installation and said the job came in under budget, and credited a separate company, Boot Hill Metal Bending, with the custom ductwork. A 2025 customer said the Ryans installed all the plumbing and heating when the family built their house 25 years earlier, that they had used the company consistently since, and that it gets there fast when needed. A 2021 customer described quick and friendly service on their furnace.
“Mechanical Engineer: J.W. & D.E. Ryan Plumbing and Heating, Tim Ryan”
Just finished replacement of a 20 year old central AC system. (Forced March-OMG) Custom ductwork was required to modify for heat pump and related air exchanger. Big job under adverse "crawl space" conditions. I characterize the outcome as exceptionally favorable. Quality component recommendation, excellent demolition and installation, and they came in under budget! Can't say enough Positive about the entire team. They have made living in the wilderness possible for an old goat. This customer is extremely happy and grateful. Special mention to Boot Hill Metal Bending for the custom ductwork necessary to adapt new heat pump to old system. incredible quality workmanship. The Team "crushed" demolition process and removal of old system. The design of the new ductwork and integration was top notch to make the whole thing much better. OLD POST 36 x 50 shop and auxiliary dwelling unit heated and air-conditioned. Chris and Tim (and Tim Senior) help me design water and septic and potable water sourcing using only sketches. They did a fantastic job without spending too much of my money. Most of all, they sent some great technicians including Mr. Ben W. Mr. Ben translated all of the design work into tangible product with excellent results. Can't say enough good things. Very pleased-hire these folks!
Ryans installed all of our plumbing and heating when we built our house 25 years ago and we've been using them consistently since. They are just the best. Professional, knowledgeable, willing to talk me through something over the phone that I can do myself and they get here fast when we need them. I would recommend them to anyone!
Very professional with knowledgeable, quick and friendly service team for our furnace. Highly recommended!
