JB Kitchens & Baths is a Weymouth cabinetry and countertop showroom that's been outfitting South Shore kitchens and baths for decades — the company's own site says since 1983, though its Better Business Bureau profile lists it as established in 2001 with 25 years in business, so the two accounts don't quite agree on how far back the history runs. What comes through in review after review is the same handful of names: Ed handling cabinet and countertop design and installation, Cheryl doing kitchen design work, and Tom running the construction side. Customers describe Ed measuring corners correctly on countertop jobs, keeping them updated through pandemic-era shipping delays, and coming back years later to match a finish on a small dry-bar addition. On the design side, Cheryl is repeatedly credited with walking homeowners through layout choices they hadn't considered themselves. A couple of reviews describe bigger projects — one repeat customer had walls taken down and utilities relocated as part of a kitchen overhaul, and another had a full kitchen remodeled, custom pantry included, finished in six weeks. The BBB rates the company A+ (it isn't BBB-accredited), and Houzz shows a perfect 5-star average from two reviews alongside a Houzz Award, two badges, and 19 showcased projects ranging $3,000–$70,000. Google shows a slightly lower 4.6 stars from 33 ratings. The one clear miss on record: in an April 2024 review, a customer described waiting more than 14 months for JB to come back and fix a side panel and touch up paint on cabinetry already installed, describing a repeated pattern of scheduled visits that were cancelled or simply no-showed. For a cabinet or countertop project — or a fuller kitchen remodel where JB coordinates the build — this is a reasonable call with a track record; just get a clear commitment in writing for any post-installation follow-up work, given the one reported case of it dragging on for over a year.
We worked with Emily at JB Kitchens & Baths and she is phenomenal. It was our first time doing a major renovation and Emily took the time to walk us through the many options and worked seamlessly with our contractor to get the project scheduled and completed on time. Emily is very knowledgeable, detail focused, and a pleasure to work with. We continually get compliments on our kitchen. We would give Emily 6 stars if we could! -Maura & Steve Mahoney
JB's is awesome. I flip a few properties per year and they always are easy to work with and schedule around my other contractors. Very fair pricing and always reliable. Tom is my point of contact and makes it seamless and easy!
I have been waiting for over 14 months for JB Kitchens to return to my property to fix a side panel and do some paint touch ups on cabinetry they installed in our home. They call. They schedule. And, then, they either call and cancel or "no show".
We used JB this past summer when redoing our kitchen. 5 stars all around. Ed was super helpful and patient with us throughout all steps of the process. The workers were polite and friendly, and the new kitchen cabinets and counters look absolutely amazing. I’ve already recommended JB to friends and family, and will definitely be contacting them in the future when we redo the bathrooms!
I own a small apartment building and have had granite and quartz counter tops installed by JB. I have been very happy with all aspects of their work from quote to final installation. I especially appreciate the fact that they measure the corners correctly and not everyone does (thank you Ed). Timely installation and cleanup. I wish I met them years ago.
