On Google, Jeanson Contracting holds 3.4 stars from 5 ratings. Its Houzz profile says Trevor Jeanson comes from a family of builders that have been in the construction industry for 50+ years, and that he relocated to southern New Hampshire with his family. A recent customer who built a home with the company gave it one star, saying communication was inconsistent and that work was completed without alignment to the agreed-upon plans or without prior approval. That customer said the final punch list was not completed and that fixing the outstanding items cost them more time and money. A recent customer said subcontractors put a new set of stairs off their back deck without flashing or pressure treated wood, and that it created thousands of dollars of water damage to their brand new home. The same customer said they had to have a real contractor fix the work, and that neither Trevor nor his contractor showed up to fix it. In a 2023 review, a customer said Jeanson Construction replaced their deck and built a new unattached garage, and wrote that they hoped to have them build a vacation home in the future.
We built our home with this contractor and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience. Throughout the project, communication was inconsistent and there were multiple instances where work was completed without alignment to the agreed-upon plans or without prior approval. This led to several issues that we later had to correct at our own expense. The overall quality of workmanship did not meet expectations, and we found that subcontractors were not always held to a consistent standard. In addition, the final punch list was not completed, which required us to spend additional time and money addressing outstanding items after the project was considered finished. Building a home is a significant investment, and we expected a higher level of professionalism, attention to detail, and accountability throughout the process. Based on our experience, we would not choose to work with this contractor again and would not recommend to anyone!
BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY… He doesn’t hold his subcontractors accountable & doesn’t do the right thing when the opportunity arises… Since he subs almost all of his work out, that is a huge problem. My wife & I Confronted him about the shady work that his subcontractor did at our home & he passed the buck & didn’t do the right thing… His subs were hacks & created thousands of dollars of water damage to our brand new home when they put a new set of stairs off our back deck & not only didn’t use any flashing as required per code but also didn’t use any pressure treated wood. Not only was there no flashing. There were no joist hangers & I had to have a real contractor fix this joke of work… Also not only was the deck not lagged to the house the nails they had it hanging from missed the studs so basically the platform was being held up by 1/2” Zip Sheathing… I have two young daughters & they could have been seriously hurt… I gave Trevor & his contractor every opportunity to come & remedy & neither of them had the professionalism or courtesy to show up & fix it… If you value your home, DO NOT HIRE JEANSON CONTRACTING!
I've had Jeanson Construction replace my deck and build a new unattached garage. Am looking forward to hopefully having them build a new vacation home for me in the future. Their quality and service is outstanding!!! Highly recommend!!
