What JJ Iron Work Design's customers keep describing is the welding itself. In a January 2025 review a client wrote that every weld came back clean and free of burrs, and — more tellingly for anyone running a schedule — that the shop checked all its dimensions on site before fabricating anything, so nothing had to be redone. That is praise a fabricator earns rather than advertises. The shop is on Pulaski Street in Peabody, and BBB lists it as a sole proprietorship with a single employee, managed by Ygor De Oliveira. Ten people have reviewed it on Google, every one at five stars, and the work they describe is mostly railings and stairs. A December 2024 customer had a handrail stair railing put in at their own house and their parents', and wrote that they had braced for a mess and got a clean house back. Another that month counted multiple railing jobs as a returning customer. In January 2025 a client said their iron stairs arrived on the promised date. A contractor of 25 years, writing that March, said the crew worked late every day and finished his railings ahead of schedule. The newest comment, from June 2026, is a homeowner happy with a finished fence. Then there is the thing to raise before you call. The site says the company has over 10 years of ironwork and steel construction experience and that its artisans have been at this for over a decade — but BBB records the business as having started on 26 July 2024, opening its file that November, and puts it at two years old. The oldest review anywhere on file is December 2024, which lines up with BBB rather than with the website. A decade of personal experience behind a business founded in 2024 is an ordinary story and may well be this one, but the site does not say that, so ask directly whose decade it is. Worth knowing too: the A on its BBB page is a rating, not an accreditation — the company is not BBB accredited — and BBB gives length of time in business as the reason for that grade. For custom railings, stairs, security grates, iron gates or structural steel on the North Shore, the workmanship people describe here is specific and consistent, and it comes from clients who know the trade as well as from homeowners. Ask for references from jobs like yours, confirm who will actually be on site given the single-employee listing, and get the scope and timeline in writing before anyone starts cutting steel.
