JJ Iron Work

JJ Iron Work Design is a Peabody metal shop built around one craft: custom ironwork, from staircases and railings to fences, gates and structural steel, serving the North Shore and Greater Boston. The company says its artisans bring over a decade of ironwork and metal fabrication experience, working out of a shop on Pulaski Street. What keeps showing up across its Google reviews — all five stars, eleven of them — is the finish work: reviewers single out clean, burr-free welds and stair and hand railings installed carefully enough that one longtime contractor called it some of the best work he'd had after 25 years of hiring crews. Others mention punctual arrivals, careful protection of the house during installs, and jobs delivered on the promised timeline, including a 2026 review about a finished fence. Better Business Bureau gives the company an A grade, though it isn't BBB-accredited and the grade rests on length of time in business rather than any published customer reviews there — and BBB's own file shows the business itself was opened in July 2024, a shorter history than the decade of craft experience advertised on its site. It's also currently listed as a one-employee sole proprietorship, worth keeping in mind on a larger project. For a homeowner planning custom railings, a staircase, or ironwork gates around Greater Boston, the reviews point to careful, detail-oriented craftsmanship — just confirm current staffing and timeline for anything beyond a single install.
