His work ethic is second to none, and what he did for my family is something I’ll never forget. To give some context, my father was very sick with cancer and heart problems. He struggled to breathe and often blamed things in the house. At one point, he believed the carpet in his bedroom was making it worse, so I removed it. When Jeff heard what was going on, he once again stepped in without being asked. After I took the carpet out, I was at work when my father called and said someone had delivered hardwood flooring for his bedroom. I was completely confused and immediately called Jeff, thinking there must have been a mistake. Jeff simply said, “I couldn’t have your father walking around on plywood.” That moment says everything about the kind of person Jeff is—not just a great craftsman, but a genuinely good human being. JLD Hardwood Flooring I have had the opportunity to work with the owner Jeff Dionne three separate times over the years, and I truly cannot say enough good things about him and his crew. Jeff is reliable, attentive, and genuinely listens to understand exactly what you want from a project. The first project involved installing a prefinished hardwood floor that I had already purchased. The results were stunning. I was preparing to put my house on the market, and it sold on the the second day. I honestly believe the floors played a major role. Jeff was thoughtful, punctual, and stayed right on budget and schedule. The second project came after a dishwasher overflowed and flooded my lower level. The floors and rugs had to be completely removed. Instead of having the insurance company replace everything with the same materials, I chose to work with JLD Hardwood Flooring and I’m so glad I did. Jeff and his crew went above and beyond at every level. They removed the damaged rugs, tore out problematic laminate, pulled all the baseboards, and even cut out sections of the subfloor where needed. There was a height issue between the existing hardwood and another floor that really bothered Jeff. Rather than using a standard transition piece (as most contractors would), he hired a craftsman to replicate the custom woodwork from my fireplace mantle to my door jambs. It was an incredible detail—one most people might not notice, but I absolutely did, and I appreciated it more than I can say. Once again, Jeff was punctual, respectful, and made sure everything we discussed was handled properly. His crew followed his lead—they were professional, respectful, and a pleasure to have in my home. It was genuinely a positive experience. The third time I worked with Jeff was after my home was vandalized, and the beautiful hardwood floors Jeff had installed were badly affected. I didn’t know what to do—the floors were curling, and I was overwhelmed. Jeff immediately stepped in, advised me to run the air conditioning continuously (even though it was winter), and explained why. He was right—it significantly reduced the damage. He then refinished the floors, and they looked brand new, even though they had been installed four years earlier. At that point, I was preparing to move again following the loss of my husband, so this project carried a lot of emotional weight. When my home went on the market, buyers commented on two things: the beautiful hardwood floors and the custom detailing around the door jambs. Those small, thoughtful details stood out. Jeff is truly detail-oriented. My home sold on the first day for $85,000 over asking price. I firmly believe the presentation of the lower level—and the craftsmanship of the flooring—made a lasting impression. I could not have done this without JLD Hardwood Flooring, and I am deeply grateful to Jeff and his crew for taking such good care of me and my home. As I said, I truly cannot say enough good things about him, and I look forward to working with him again on my next project. And yes, there will be another project.
