Verified record
- Not rated by the BBB
Highlights
- On-time finish — a 2015 reviewer said work completed when promised
- Recent local permits — Danvers and Marblehead jobs filed 2020 to 2024
- Licence contradiction — same number shown both active and cancelled
- Decade-old reviews — the only two accounts date from 2014 and 2015
- Anonymous reviewers — neither account carries a name or job detail
- Tenure claim mismatch — 'six years' clashes with 2014 reviews on the page
Two reviews, both anonymous, both more than a decade old — that is the entire written history of John Mostacci Jr Construction, and it shapes everything else you can say about this Salem builder. What those two accounts describe is straightforward. In a January 2015 review, a homeowner said the remodel was done on time and finished when promised; an April 2014 reviewer called the general contracting work skilled and professional. Both are five stars, and neither goes further than that. The written record here runs 2014 to 2015 and stops. The permit trail is more current, and it is small-scale. BuildZoom shows four projects: residential electrical applications in Danvers for kitchen remodels in 2020 and 2022 and for an above-ground pool with a basement bathroom in 2021, plus a Marblehead electrical permit in June 2024. BuildZoom lists kitchen, bathroom, basement and whole-home remodels and additions as the services offered. The licence needs settling before you go further. BuildZoom prints construction supervisor number CS-102832 twice on the same page — once as active, once as inactive and at one point cancelled per the Department of Public Safety. Those cannot both be true, and neither is a state confirmation. BuildZoom's own write-up also says six years in the industry, which does not square with reviews on that same page dating to 2014. For a small kitchen or bathroom update on the North Shore, the recent Danvers and Marblehead permits show this is work he still files for. Just do the verification yourself: check CS-102832 with the Massachusetts Department of Public Safety, confirm whether he also carries a home improvement contractor registration for non-structural work, and ask for references from the last year or two, since the public praise is a decade old.
