John Q Caldwell Jr Carpentry works out of 26 Bayberry Road in Newburyport, and the jobs under its name stay inside the trade: finish carpentry, doors and windows, deck repair and cabinets. Ten permitted projects carry the company's name on BuildZoom, dated between 1996 and 2011. Two of them are in Methuen — a pool deck in 2011, and a sill and floor-joist repair pulled two years earlier. BuildZoom lists two Massachusetts home improvement contractor numbers for the business, #122068 and #158811, and a construction supervisor number, CS-033730. Look each one up on the state's license register before you hire. This is a call for trim, doors, cabinets and deck work rather than a whole-house project. Confirm the licence numbers yourself, ask which jobs he has finished most recently, and get insurance certificates in writing before any work starts.
Typical Greater Boston range for this kind of work, from regional averages — not a quote from John Q Caldwell Jr Carpentry. Use it to sanity-check bids, then get the real number in writing.
