Johnson Plumbing & Heating is a plumbing and heating outfit with 3.9 stars from 7 Google ratings. A 2022 customer said the owner Brian picked up the phone right away, and that his son Dustin came out, opened the boiler, replaced the part that didn't work and fixed the problem, restoring hot water and heat. A 2023 customer with a broken pipe and no water said Johnson Plumbing answered the phone when other local plumbers did not, sent a text less than two hours later saying they were on the way, and found and repaired the broken pipe the same day. That 2023 reviewer wrote that they kept the family appraised of every step and cleaned up after themselves. A 2025 customer gave five stars for price, timing and quality work. A 2025 reviewer said the contractor did not answer emails about a unit malfunctioning less than a year after install. A 2025 customer billed for a simple job said they did good work but charged more than $500 of labor for 70 minutes of door-to-door work, including driving back and forth from Kennebunk and labor for 2 plumbers on what the customer called a 1 man job, and that they were offended when the charge was questioned.
Received a ridiculous invoice for a simple job. They said they were “in town” for several jobs, then charged us labor for driving back and forth from kennebunk. $500+ labor for 70 mins of door to door work. Also they charged for labor of 2 plumbers because 2 plumbers were physically there even though it was a 1 man job. They were offended when we questioned the labor charge. They did good work but my gosh did they lose a customer.
Top notch service! 5 stars for price, timing and quality work.
Unfortunately this contractor does not answer emails when asked about a unit malfunctioning less than a year after install. I'd look elsewhere if you want someone responsible.
In an emergency situation, with a broken pipe in my house and no water following a couple of the coldest days in state history, I was in desperate need of a plumber. I found out that the one we had previously used had retired, leaving me to call a number of local plumbers who I had no experience with. None of them answered the phone or returned messages, except one company who told me that since I wasn't an existing customer it would be at least a week to come out. To a house without water. Luckily, my wife received a recommendation to call Johnson Plumbing, and not only did they actually answer the phone, they told me they'd be out as soon as possible. I received a text message less than two hours later telling me they were on their way. They were then able to find the broken pipe and also repair it that same day. Amazing customer service. Kept us appraised of every step, were extremely personable and even cleaned up after themselves. I literally cannot recommend this company highly enough. Thanks again for everything! -Mark
I contacted them and the owner Brian picked the phone up right the way and offered his help! They are extremely busy hard working professionals and try to fill everybody in and keep everybody happy. I didn’t meet the owner but his son Dustin came, helped me and got the job done extremely well and professionally, I was blown away how fast he opened the boiler, replaced the part that didn’t work and fixed the problem in no time! He worked all day before came to my house at the end of the day but despite the tiredness he was smiling , very knowledgeable, helpful and answered all questions I had. Keep the good job guys we do appreciate your help much knowing how extremely busy the plumbers are these days! I will recommend them to all my friends and definitely will call them again! Thank you Brian and Dustin, great job- you saved my house in winter and I’m so happy to have hot water and heat again!
