Twenty-nine customer reviews since 2022 and not a single unhappy one — that is the headline for Jack Panneton's small Tyngsborough operation, which carries a 4.9 average from 31 Google ratings. The business runs from 27 Tower Road in Tyngsborough and trades under more than one name: the legal entity is Jp Handyman & Home Improvement LLC, while its own website presents it as JP Decks & Carpentry. The company says it has been locally owned and operated since 2021, started by Panneton, a mechanical engineer, after he finished college that year; he is the owner-operator, with a construction consultant credited with over forty years of building experience and a photographer rounding out the small team. The work splits three ways on the company's own site: decks and porches — updating, expanding and repairing them — kitchen and bathroom remodeling, and general carpentry including door installation, molding and small framing jobs. That range is what the review record reflects too, with customers returning for both quick fixes and larger builds. The credential is in order. Massachusetts Home Improvement Contractor registration #205684 is recorded as active, and the registration is held in the name Jp Handyman & Home Improvement LLC — the business's own legal name, not a lookalike. Worth noting that the registration was issued in June 2026, recently enough that it does not cover the earlier years of trading described on the site, so it is a fair question to ask about. There is one wrinkle in how the company presents its history. The site says the business has been going since 2021, yet the owner's biography on the same page credits him with ten years in the building trades — that is his personal experience, not the company's age, and the two are easy to conflate. Be careful you are calling the right firm. At least three other Massachusetts contractors trade under near-identical 'JP' names, including a separate JP General Contracting in Tyngsborough itself, and their reviews and tenure claims are not this business's. This is a sensible call for deck, porch, carpentry and general repair work around Tyngsborough and the Merrimack Valley, particularly if you want an owner-operator who does the work himself rather than a crew. Before booking, confirm the HIC registration number on the Massachusetts Office of Consumer Affairs lookup, ask for a certificate of general liability insurance, and get the scope in writing.

I recently hired Jack to install a new mailbox and fix a tricky issue with my dishwasher mount that had been giving me trouble for a while. From start to finish, Jack was fantastic—he communicated promptly, showed up exactly when he said he would, and tackled both jobs with impressive skill and efficiency. I’ll absolutely be calling Jack again for future projects. Highly recommended!

Jack did a great job with rebuilding the front and rear steps of our house, as well as replacing the supports for our front deck. Extremely professional and courteous, and highly-skilled as well. Pricing was fair and the work was done as described. We couldn't be happier!

I couldn’t be happier with the work Jack did on my deck. He tore it down and rebuilt it and the result is an amazing deck. From start to finish, he was extremely professional, showing up on time or early, kept the work area clean and completed everything right on schedule. His attention to detail and work ethic really set him apart and I look forward to hiring him for future projects. If you are looking for someone trustworthy, skilled and professional, look no further.
