Kaloutas Painting

Kaloutas is a commercial and industrial contractor rather than a house painter: by its own description it paints, coats floors, applies fireproofing, and cleans and maintains working facilities. The company says it began in 1987, when Jim Kaloutas and his father John opened the Peabody branch — Jim was 19 at the time — and that Jim leads it today. What has been published about the company is mostly trade news. Patch reported in March 2014 that Kaloutas had bought Clean World and Res-Stone Industrial Flooring, describing it then as a commercial painting company working across New England; two other items that spring covered a new director for its industrial flooring division and, in the Worcester Business Journal, an operations manager appointed to the Natick and Peabody operation. In 2017 the builder Windover named Kaloutas among the project partners it thanked on a job. BBB lists the company with Worcester and Peabody locations and 28 years in business; it is not accredited there and BBB assigns it no rating. Its Procore profile puts it at 279 Centre St in Holbrook with 107 projects logged, and its Google page stands at 4 stars from four ratings. The company states an OSHA 10 certification. For a facility or property manager after industrial painting, flooring or fireproofing, this is the kind of outfit to bring in: ask which office would run the job, given the Peabody, Worcester and Holbrook addresses in circulation, and for two recent facility references. A homeowner wanting rooms or a house exterior painted should ask first whether residential work is something Kaloutas takes at all.
