Eighteen Google ratings, not one below five stars — that is the entire public trail for Karpet Korner, a carpet and flooring shop on Cross Street in Methuen. The work is floor covering and nothing else: plush and berber carpet, vinyl, linoleum and commercial flooring, sold and installed by the same outfit. Instead of a showroom you drive to, they bring samples to the house or the jobsite and help you pick there. The reputation is uniformly positive and unusually quiet. Angi carries a 5.0 from three ratings, Google a 5.0 across eighteen, and the shop is listed with the Methuen Chamber of Commerce. What is thin is the writing behind those numbers: the newest written account on file dates to the end of 2021, and the Angi ones go back to 2014 and 2015. The stars rest on a track record rather than on current work. Worth pinning down: how long they have actually been at it. The home page claims 37+ years of experience, the About page on the same site says 20+. Angi's profile highlights 35 years while its own description directly beneath says 30+. Any of those could be the real number — ask, and ask what the shop's history has been under its current ownership. The company also says it features Shaw Floors carpet and calls itself a Better Business Bureau member; both are its own statements, not outside confirmations. Massachusetts does not require home improvement contractor registration for floor-covering-only work, so there is no state credential to check on a job like this. Confirm insurance instead, and ask who does the installing — an in-house crew or subcontracted labour. For a straightforward carpet or vinyl job in the Merrimack Valley, this is a small local shop with a clean but dated public history. Get the measurement, the material grade and the all-in total in writing before the order goes in.

I just had Karpet Korner install carpets in a couple rooms upstairs and I could not be happier about the entire process. John is a great guy and he personally came to our house to take a look at the job. Within a week, the carpet was in and it came out amazing. I will be recommending him to anyone I know that is in the market for carpet. Thanks again John!
