Kevin Conrad Heating & Cooling Inc. is a heating and air conditioning company at 5 Perry Lane on Nantucket. The Better Business Bureau lists Kevin Conrad as president, five employees, and a business start date of 1 January 2005 with incorporation the following year, and records the work as installation, cleaning, repair and maintenance of heating units, boilers, furnaces and duct work. Outside its own trade, the company is best known on the island for ground-source work: in a September 2022 thread on r/geothermal about Massachusetts contractors, a commenter named Conrad HVAC as a firm that does geothermal in the state and said the owner was a regular contributor there. That is a forum recommendation rather than a customer account of a finished job, so treat it as a lead to check rather than a verdict. The one customer account on record runs the other way. In a September 2022 Google review a homeowner rated the company one star and wrote that a Fujitsu mini-split was installed improperly, that it leaks and does not work properly, that getting it fixed was a drawn-out process, and that it malfunctions at least once a summer. Google's own page shows a 3-star average across two ratings, so that complaint is one of only two scores on file. Two credential points are worth raising before you call. The state registry shows Massachusetts HVAC licence 212-SM-B, held in this company's own name, as EXPIRED — ask directly whether it has been renewed and get the current number. And the A+ grade shown on the BBB page belongs to a profile that also states the business is not BBB accredited; those are two separate facts, not one endorsement. If you are pricing geothermal or heat-pump work on Nantucket, this is a name worth a conversation, but ask about the licence status and about the mini-split installation history first.
“Conrad HVAC does geothermal in Massachusetts. I believe the owner Kevin is a regular contributor on this thread as well.”
Installed a Fugitsu spit system improperly. It leaks and does not work properly. Have had a terrible timed getting it fixed. It malfunctions at least once a summer. It has been a costly mistake.
