Kevin E Kondrat is a Methuen general contractor with a long local permit history and a licence problem a homeowner needs to resolve before hiring. BuildZoom lists 27 building permits under his name, concentrated in Methuen residential work — roofing, decks and additions — alongside a 2019 commercial alteration on Burnham Road and an 84-panel solar array in Newburyport. The credential is the first thing to check. BuildZoom's record shows a Massachusetts Construction Supervisor licence, CS-099457, that expired in April 2020 and which the directory last verified as inactive in July 2026. That is the licence a contractor needs to pull building permits in Massachusetts, and it is a directory record rather than something confirmed here against the state registry, so treat it as the starting point for a question, not a verdict. The customer record is real but old. Three written reviews sit on the public page, averaging 4 out of 5, and the newest of them dates from 2016 — a decade of work has gone by since anyone wrote about the experience. Two of the three describe the workmanship in favourable terms; the third is a detailed complaint alleging that outstanding defects were never returned to after payment was made in full. One of those reviews also states the business operates as K&C Contracting from a Methuen street address, with a family member handling permit filings. No other source on file corroborates that trading name, so it is worth asking directly which entity a contract would be with. He is a plausible fit for straightforward Methuen roofing, deck or addition work if the paperwork checks out. Before signing, ask for the current Construction Supervisor licence number and Home Improvement Contractor registration, verify both on the Massachusetts state lookups yourself, get proof of general liability and workers' compensation, and structure payment so a meaningful balance is held back until the punch list is genuinely finished.

Roof, doors, rot repair, cellar windows. $16,500, 4 days. Working with Kevin was a pleasure. From start to finish he was very professional and takes pride in what he does. He went above and beyond with everything he did for us. From the roof to the foundation and a lot of little things in between. I would highly recommend him to anyone needing work done on their home.

Roof Work and Repair, 2 days. Buyer Beware. Kevin E. Kondrat runs this latest incarnation of K&C Contracting located at 7 Marvin Street; Methuen, MA 01844 and the phone number is (978) 476-4450. His wife, Dana, handles prerequisite building permits when required. Mr. Kondrat is highly skilled at convincing people that he is good for his word and can be trusted for quality results, complete with follow-up to resolve defective work. I fell for that BS and the "I'll be back to fix it to your satisfaction next week." Once my check was cashed, this guy disappeared. I made the mistake of paying in full while there were outstanding issues to be resolved. He looked me straight in the eye while shaking my hand as he lied. My father was a skilled craftsman in the construction trades and got all of his weekend jobs based on the quality of his work, but more importantly, his honesty. That set me up for a fall. The hard lesson I learned from Kevin Kondrat is NEVER to pay him in full until every, single bit of work, no matter how small, is done properly.

Addition, $85,000, 36 days. I hired Kevin to do a big addition for me, and did an unbelievable job. Everything from framing it out, to all the final touches. He paid attention to detail and takes pride in his workmanship. I highly recommend him.
