Forty-three Google ratings, all averaging a clean 5.0, and the name that keeps appearing in them is Bruce. Skillville Corp. works out of Methuen as a general contractor — kitchens, bathrooms, basements, attics and additions, plus roofing, siding, windows, flooring and basement waterproofing — and says it has been at this for more than a decade. The recent reviews are unusually specific about scope. In February a customer described a full kitchen and half-bath renovation done alongside an upgrade of their buried electrical service to 200 amp, and called the process smooth start to finish. In March another homeowner wrote about two projects — a complete bathroom installation and a full kitchen renovation — in a 138-year-old house, crediting Bruce with staying responsive and handling problems as they surfaced, which is the part that matters most in a house that old. A June review looked back at repairs to a water-damaged sill and basement beams and columns, noting the work passed inspection. Its Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration, number 171365, is active — verified against the state registry, not taken from a directory. The company also lists a Construction Supervisor licence on its own site, which we did not independently check. One thing that looks stranger than it is: the BBB profile, opened in March 2026, carries no rating and says the business has been operating less than six months, while the company's own site claims over ten years and its review history runs back to 2022. That reads as a new BBB file rather than a new company, but it is worth asking about directly. They are a sensible call for a multi-trade interior renovation in the Merrimack Valley — the kind of job where a kitchen, a bath and a service upgrade land in the same contract. Confirm the Construction Supervisor licence number, get the scope and allowance for surprises in writing, and ask how change orders get priced on an older house.

This is a review from a job done almost ten years ago. Bruce and his team repaired a water damaged sill and a few basement beams and columns in my old house. Everything passed inspection and the new home owners were happy to see the job was done right. The crew was very polite and worked non stop the days they were there. I know because I was home and heard them. Oh and Bruce is a genuine nice guy.

Bruce and his team have done two projects for us, a bathroom total installation and a total kitchen renovation. Both projects have come out beautifully. Bruce is responsive and communicates well as the projects progressed, and he deals with issues as they arise (which in 138 y.o. houses do come up) quickly and professionally.

We hired Skillville to do a full kitchen and half bathroom renovation, along with upgrading our buried electrical service to 200 amp, and we couldn’t be happier with the results. From start to finish, the process was smooth and professional. The kitchen and bathroom renovations were completed with great attention to detail — everything from cabinetry and tile work to fixtures and finishes was done beautifully. The workmanship is top-notch, and the spaces are now both stunning and functional. The electrical upgrade to 200 amp service was a major project, and it was handled efficiently and safely. Skillville coordinated inspections and managed the buried electrical work. The cutover to new service happened in one day (another contractor said 6 weeks!). The crew was punctual, respectful of our home, and kept the work areas as clean as possible during construction. We appreciated the clear and kind communication throughout the process. We highly recommend Skillville Corp. to anyone looking for high-quality work. We will absolutely hire them again for future projects.

We are very happy with the outcome of our project to remodel two bathrooms; they both came out exactly as we had envisioned at the beginning. Bruce and Skillville were a pleasure to work with, communicating smoothly and easily throughout, and always ensuring our questions and concerns were addressed. We will certainly use Skillville again for future projects. Highly recommended!
