Kress Woodworking

Kress Woodworking is a custom woodworking shop headed by master craftsman Peter Kress. The company says Peter has built the business over more than 30 years and works from Southbridge, Massachusetts, creating custom cabinetry, furniture, millwork, and artisan woodwork for homes and businesses. The company describes a design-and-build approach using domestic and exotic woods, veneers, and detailed finish work. People who hired Peter describe specific residential projects rather than generic praise. In a 2019 review, a client said he designed and built a built-in kitchen table and a large bookcase, met the promised completion date, and worked carefully with the apartment’s existing woods and architecture. Reviews from 2018 describe a kitchen renovation, a mahogany-and-ebony dining table, a cherry banister, a custom bathroom vanity, built-ins, and other furniture. Another reviewer reported hiring Pete for four jobs and being pleased with his timeliness each time. These accounts are dated 2018–2019, while the Houzz profile currently shows 5 stars from 9 ratings. The strongest fit is custom cabinetry, built-ins, furniture, and finish carpentry where material selection and detail matter. The website lists a broad service area around Boston, Worcester, Southbridge, and neighboring Massachusetts towns, and Houzz lists a Weston address, phone number, website, seven projects, and license number 567-231. Before booking, confirm the scope, schedule, current availability, and licensing details for the specific project. Kress appears suited to homeowners seeking individually designed woodwork, cabinetry, or furniture rather than a standardized installation package.
