Kuhlman Electric works out of Lynn, and the calls that keep coming are for the less glamorous, essential jobs — swapping out a dead panel, ripping out decades-old knob-and-tube wiring, adding an EV charger in the driveway. Google has them at 4.9 stars across 462 ratings, built up since 2021. Reading through this spring's reviews, the same pattern repeats: a technician arrives, explains the options and the price before touching anything, and leaves the space as clean as it was found. Reviewers name names often — Justin Kerrigan, Cody Martin, John Traversy, Anthony Priego, Gary Kuhlman himself. One customer had a NEMA 14-50 EV outlet installed, and when the car needed more than the original quote covered, Kuhlman absorbed the difference instead of rebilling. Another had the original 1930s BX wiring replaced throughout an entire house, the panel upgraded to 200 amps, and called the crew the right fit for a whole-home rewire in the middle of a rough winter. That kind of praise shows up dozens of times in just the past few months — same-day diagnoses, options explained before work starts, sites left clean afterward. But one review from this spring is worth reading before booking a bigger job: a customer described a wiring update where the crew punched an unusual number of holes in walls and ceilings, swept debris under rugs, and mislabeled breakers in the main panel — problems not discovered until months later. It's an outlier against dozens of detailed five-star accounts, but specific enough to plan around: ask how patching and panel labeling will be handled before a rewiring project starts. A separate reviewer lost home internet and TV for a day after a service visit, tied to a third-party provider rather than Kuhlman's own work, but worth confirming ahead of time if connectivity during the job matters. Kuhlman reads best for a full rewire, a panel upgrade, or an EV charger install — though plenty of the reviews here are quick, single-visit fixes too. For anything bigger, get the assigned technician's name, the scope, and a plan for patching walls in writing before the crew starts opening anything up.

I contacted Kuhlman Electric to request assistance with an outdoor GFCI receptacle I recently installed that wasn’t receiving any voltage for reasons I couldn’t figure out. A representative responded promptly to my message and arranged for a technician, Kyle Brunet, to come down the very next day. Kyle was friendly, attentive and professional, arriving within the established time window, and resolving the problem quickly by resetting a circuit whose switching mechanism was slightly ajar; something I completely overlooked as being connected to the faulty outlet. Because of the easy fix, Kyle discounted the normal diagnostic fee and addressed all questions I had regarding the repair and other electrical jobs I’m presently considering. Overall, it was an excellent service experience as a first time customer with this company.

Jake Sampson and Matt Kilroy came to my home today on behalf of Kuhlman Electric. They were very nice and polite and were very. Knowledgeable and handled my request to reposition my chandelier and replace some light bulbs in ceiling fixtures. They wasted no time and saved money therefore. I would a absolutely call again and would recommend Kuhlman based on this experience

Anthony Priego from Kuhlman Electric came and fixed a few outdoor outlets today. He diagnosed the issues, gave a quote for a fix and restored the power to our garage outlets. It was a great, no-hassle experience. Highly recommend these guys!

Cody Martin and John Traversy did a great job at my house installing some new wired smoke detectors. They were very professional, personable and did a very clean job. I trust them in my house. They are so nice to work with. My only suggestion is to do a walk through of the job with the landlord and not just the tenant and keep the owner involved in all aspects of the project. They show up on time. Great team and very fast and efficient. I’m glad to be able to work with them. Thanks again!
