Ira is timely, meticulous and a great carpenter. We used him to remodel our kitchen, which came out beautiful. He had great suggestions for storage solutions and saved us so much space with his custom cabinets. We would work with Ira again in a heartbeat.
Over the course of 5 years Ira remodeled practically my entire house. In the kitchen he did a complete gut renovation. Melody, his wife and designer for LCC, did the design and it turned out absolutely stunning! Everyone who walked into my house remarked on the quality of the craftsmanship, as well as the superb taste in every design detail. They were not wrong. I loved every minute in that kitchen (before we moved). He also installed hardwood flooring and managed to weave the new planks in with existing 70 year old ones and you would never know the difference. He put up beadboard, fixed ceilings, did amazing trim work, fixed the crappy trim work that was already there and made it look seamless. He also retrofitted old wood pane windows into 2 screened porches to create an incredibly cool look, and making them both usable year round. After all that, (and more that I’m sure I missed), he finished my basement. The basement was one that many other contractors may have looked at and said “good luck with this, it isn’t worth it.” Well I suppose that would be true if they aren’t as talented as Ira, which is highly likely. What he managed to accomplish in that basement was nothing short of magic. If you don’t believe me, look at the before and after pictures on the LCC website. It’s the North Basement. You’ll see. While you’re there, check out the North Kitchen and see that magic as well. The lengths that Ira goes to, to ensure that his clients are happy is unmatched. His patience and communication are something that is sorely lacking in our world today. Whether it’s explaining why something may take longer than you want it to, or talking through creative problem solving, or anything else, he is an absolute joy. His responsiveness, honesty and integrity make him someone you want to have in your home rather than worry about. He’s also just fun to talk to. Don’t waste your time hiring someone else just so that you have to have him come and fix it for you. Do it right the first time. You will not be sorry, and when he’s done with your FIRST project, you won’t be able to wait to have him come back for the next one, and the one after that, and… You get the idea. ;) Hire him. Do it now. Just do it. He’s the best.
If you are seeking a Master Carpenter then this is my 1st choice. Ira managed a total remodeling of our kitchen. Moved and installed large wall size view windows, moved a wall, installed an island, built additional cabinets from scratch, and managed subs. I can not stress enough Master Carpenter! There are too many cheap and fast contractors that you will regret hiring. In the end Ira added a number of features we would have never thought of giving us a kitchen that cost about what the cheap and fast bids were. Hire him you will not regret it!!!
Ira Lacey was one of the very best people we have worked with in our historic (1830) home. His skills and attention to detail are superb. He has a very good design sense and worked very well with me to create something unique to address some custom made light fixtures. Recommend him without reservation.
Two years ago we hired Ira to renovate our master bathroom. We interviewed a lot of contractors and finally we decided to use Ira. His estimate was neither the most expensive nor the least expensive. His pricing was reasonable and fair. I had a lot of positive recommendations from my co-workers at Coldwell Banker in Sudbury. A lot of agents from my office used Ira either for projects at their homes or recommended him to their clients and everyone was happy with his work. This helped us make up our mind and hire him. This was the best decision we made! Ira is honest, polite, calm by nature, responsive and he was attentive to our wants and needs and always trying to do his best to make us happy. I am a perfectionist and he is a perfectionist too so it was the perfect match. Ira did an exceptional job and you should not hesitate a moment to hire him. Best, Effie A.
