Landmark Fence is a small, one-owner fencing shop in North Eastham that BBB says has been running for 34 years under Wayne Pratt -- but the two most recent reviews on file, both from 2026, describe the same problem: work that gets promised and then stalls for months without a real update. One customer waited from March past a graduation deadline for a gate repair that never showed up; another says over a month of calls got nothing but "the quote is on the way." That pattern isn't new. A 2024 review describes a fence section installed sitting in the dirt instead of properly placed, with months of calls before it got attention, and a 2023 review says a botched installation sat unrepaired for close to a year. Against that, there are two older good reviews -- a 2024 customer called the work prompt, professional and good quality start to finish, and a brief 2021 review recommended a staffer by name. The company works in residential and commercial fence installation, temporary construction fencing, and cedar furniture and post work on Cape Cod. Before hiring, ask directly about current timelines and get a firm date in writing -- the recurring complaint here isn't the finished fence, it's how long it takes to get one, and how hard it is to reach anyone once a job stalls.
“We are getting a estimate from landmark fence already”
We hired them in March they said 2 weeks wait so we left a deposit. Needed a gate repaired so we could dog sit. That date came and went. Called in May asking what is going on and he said “oh just waiting on a large hinge”. I told him we had a graduation coming up June 5th. Now June 4th and still nothing. DO NOT RECOMMEND!!
To say that this "company" is worth avoiding is an understatement. For over a month they've strung us along with "oh the quote is on the way" combined we've called over 10 times for updates. Today, "oh someone should have reached out, we are overloaded and suddenly can't do it...." We've called 10 times. You could have said that instead of wasting a month of our time. Avoid this company at all costs. They lie, waste time, and are frankly not worth dealing with. Go with literally any other company.
Great job from start to finish. Everyone I dealt with were professional and friendly. Prompt service and the fence was great quality. Already planning the next project with them and wouldn’t think about calling someone else
I WOULD NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY. If I could give zero stars I would. Landmark installed a fence - but a section of it was done improperly and it was sitting in the dirt instead of the correct placement. I called and texted MANY times and for months they said, "we're busy and will get out to fix it when we can." they finally stopped by to fix/adjust it - and instead of coming and talking to me and letting me know they were there, they parked on the other side of the fence and didn't let me know they were there. Then, one of the people got out of the truck and took a sledgehammer and hit the wrong post - trying to smash it further into the ground! Instead of raising the post that was already too low! So I called again and asked them to come back again because they screwed it up more. I spoke with the owner, Wayne, (again) and asked him to come back and fix it. He said they would when they could. Well, more time goes by. A lot more. Continued to prompt Wayne and ask again. They finally come back, do next to nothing, and the fence is still screwed up - sinking further into the dirt. I contacted him again via text - and he acknowledged he received the text but never came back again to fix it. I'm tired of calling and texting - so I'm finally writing this review. See the photo of the fence with the slats in the dirt. It will rot much faster and looks bad. I'm also contacting the Mass. Consumer Protection in our Attorney General's office because I want a reimbursement so I can hire another fence installer to fix this shoddy work.
Worst fence job ever, go elsewhere. They don’t fix problems that they created. Terrible customer service, they told me we were on their list for someone to come fix the fence that was installed horribly. Apparently it was a long list because we were on it for about a year!! They’re sweet as pie when they’re trying to get the job but after that they’re very rude. My fence looks like a roller coaster
