The first thing a homeowner should know about Landscape America is that it is no longer aimed at homeowners. Its own site now describes a commercial-only landscape and snow-and-ice management contractor with offices in Wrentham and Hudson and a staff of more than 100, serving corporate, assisted-living, industrial, retail, hospitality, college, healthcare and cemetery properties across Massachusetts and Rhode Island. Brothers Doug and Andy McDuff started it in 2006, and BBB grades it A+ without accreditation. Its glowing older reviews come from a different era of the company. Between 2014 and 2017 it collected 24 five-star HomeAdvisor reviews for residential work: a 45-foot retaining wall that solved a backyard erosion problem in 2014, a front-garden rebuild in 2017, a $70,000 install whose planting a 2016 customer said had lost under 2% of its plants after several seasons. A May 2016 Houzz reviewer described the crew quietly re-excavating clay under a paving-stone driveway to protect its drainage, at no extra charge. That is genuinely strong work — but the newest of those accounts is nearly nine years old. The current record is thinner and more mixed. Google publishes 3.0 from four ratings. On the good side, a June 2026 customer says the company has serviced their commercial properties for a long time and works all season, and a June 2025 customer credits Dan Curtin and the team with attention to detail and reliable follow-up on snow and landscaping. On the other, two of the three most recent reviews are complaints. In June 2026 a customer wrote that a mulch installation left freshly dyed bark and colouring sprayed and tracked across a newly power-washed patio, splattered on a white vinyl fence and spread over several areas of the property, and was unhappy with the company's response after the account manager was shown the damage. In April 2026 a resident of an apartment complex the company services complained that fertiliser and pesticide applications are made without warning, get spread over the concrete walkways and leave their dog walking through them. A BBB reviewer separately complains that company trucks use roads posted against through trucking. Certifications are real and worth weighing: Massachusetts Certified Landscape Professionals and Massachusetts Certified Arborists are on staff, the company holds an ICPI credential and belongs to the National Association of Landscape Professionals. For a condo association, business park or property manager this is a serious operator with two decades behind it. For a single house, expect to be routed to their commercial focus — and if you do hire them for spraying, ask in writing how you will be notified before an application.
“There is nothing better than the smell of fresh mulch to signal the start of spring here in New England. Our landscapers have done a great job with the spring clean up and mulch installation here at Wrentham Village Premium Outlets 🌷🌱🌿🪻.”
““In terms of snow accumulation, the last two winters have actually been below average,” says Andy McDuff, co-owner and vice president of Landscape America in Wrentham, Mass.”
“In high school, Doug McDuff knew he didn’t want to work inside. He wanted to work outdoors and even considered becoming a park ranger before his guidance counselor suggested he check out the Stockbridge School of Agriculture at UMass Amherst.”
“Landscape America conducted their stretch and flex outdoor sessions each morning while still socially distancing, until their governor enforced new guidelines reducing outdoor gatherings to 25 people.”
“Founded merely three years ago, Landscape America in Wrentham, MA, has rapidly grown to become an $800,000-plus landscape installation and maintenance company.”
Been servicing my commercial properties for a long time now and they are amazing they do it all season Thanks
I would strongly discourage anyone from using this company for landscaping or mulch work. What should have been a simple mulch installation turned into a complete mess. Freshly dyed mulch bark and coloring were sprayed and tracked all over my freshly power-washed patio, splattered across my white vinyl fence, and left throughout multiple areas of my property. The quality of the work was unacceptable and showed a complete lack of attention to detail. What made the situation even worse was the company's response afterward. I personally showed the damage to the account manager, Tim, who acknowledged the poor workmanship and assured me that the issues would be corrected. I also sent him a video and nine photographs documenting the problems so he could share them with his manager. Despite multiple assurances and promises to make things right, nothing happened. There was no follow-up, no accountability, and no effort to correct the damage caused by their crew. Once the job was completed and payment was secured, communication effectively stopped. Mistakes can happen with any company. What separates a reputable business from a poor one is how they respond when problems are brought to their attention. In this case, there were acknowledgments, promises, and assurances—but ultimately no action. The disappointing workmanship was bad enough, but the complete lack of follow-through and customer service is what guarantees I will never recommend them to others.
Constantly putting toxic fertilizer and pesticides at my apartment complex. Never get a heads up before it’s done and my dog always ends up walking through it. It also gets spread all over the cement walkways.
Dan Curtin and Landscape America have been a great partner to work with for snow and landscaping services. They have excellent attention to detail and are very timely with their follow up. The property always looks fantastic. Highly recommend.
Fantastic!! Travis was easy to deal with and gave great recommendations that my wife and I went with. They completely ripped out the landscaping in the front of the house and gave it a nice, modern curb appeal that we were looking for. In the back, they planted perennials and pruned. The overall project was A++. The two workers that completed the project were absolutely awesome, professional and hard working! I would recommend to anyone looking for a professional landscaping company.
