Larry DiPietro inspects houses the way an engineer would, which by his own account is exactly what he is: a 35-plus year career across home inspection, construction and engineering behind a one-inspector practice covering northeastern Massachusetts, the North Shore, Boston and southern New Hampshire. One number tells the story. Four-plus hours on site and a 44-page report — that is what a first-time buyer got this March. Speed is not the model here; time is. What customers describe again and again is time walking the house, time answering questions, and time explaining what a finding actually means. A buyer in September 2025 said the first phone call itself was a lesson in what a home inspector does, and that other companies she rang had quoted extra fees and add-ons she had no way to judge. He works well beyond the standard buyer inspection. In August 2025 a homeowner booked a maintenance inspection on a 1958 house — no formal report with that option, just notes and advice on what to stay ahead of. A June 2025 client used him on a large multifamily. In April 2022 a buyer had him do a consultation while an offer was still being drafted, then brought him back for the full inspection. Condo and apartment inspections show up through the same years. He is not slow when it counts, either: a July 2022 couple called on the Wednesday for a Saturday inspection, were fitted in, and had the report the next day. In a 2022 inspection he flagged electrical faults the seller then agreed to fix, which is the outcome that pays for an inspection several times over. Two practical things before booking. The maintenance inspection is a different product from the buyer's inspection and does not come with the official report — be clear which one you are buying. And he draws a line at his own scope: a January 2026 client noted he was explicit about what he could address directly and what needed a specialist. Honest, but it means some questions end with another phone call. Twenty reviews going back to 2022, every one of them five stars, several from clients on their second or third property, and not one complaint among them. For a first-time buyer, an older house, or a multi-unit purchase, he is a strong call — confirm the Massachusetts home inspector licence is current with the state, since the practice publishes no licence number of its own.

HIRE THIS INSPECTOR! Lawrence was FANTASTIC! When I first called, he took the time to actually go over what a home inspector does and explain things in an easy to understand way. It was clear right away that he genuinely cares for his customers and priorities their needs over simply making a profit. I know nothing about home inspections, but by the end of that call I felt confident and knowledgeable. I called other places, and everyone else had all these extra fees and add ons, that a regular person would have no idea if they needed. Larry is honest and professional, was extremely thorough, and went above and beyond during my inspection.
