At 1:30am the night before a Christmas party for 75 guests, a homeowner who had just lost heat and hot water called Legacy's overnight line. A text came back at 5:15, they were on the phone by 6:20, and by 7:30 Rob was at the house — inside another ninety minutes the heat and the hot water were back. That December 2025 account is the sharpest version of a story that repeats across 55 reviews: this is the plumber people call when the timing is bad. Rob is in nearly every one of those reviews, from 2023 through early 2026, sometimes with a helper named Joey. A 2023 customer called him "The owner Robert", and that is the shape of the business — the owner takes the call and does the work himself. Google carries a 5.0 from 63 ratings, and the written reviews hold it up with detail rather than adjectives. The work is everyday plumbing, itemised in a way that would be hard to invent. A 2025 customer listed leaks fixed on four toilets, three bathroom faucets and two shower valves across three separate visits. A 2024 reviewer had a gas line run to a fireplace, heat lines drained and an outdoor faucet installed in one go. Another that year had a tub faucet replaced that a previous plumber had said would require knocking down an exterior wall and gutting the bathroom — it came out with no demolition at all. Heating runs through the record too: a boiler diagnosed and repaired in a 2024 review, a loud boiler handled same-day and heat lines bled in another. Two customers describe whole bathrooms, a new one in 2024 and a basement bathroom install in 2023. Three things are worth settling before the truck arrives. Price is usually described as reasonable — a 2024 reviewer wrote that Rob "charged less" than anyone else who would come out — but a different 2024 customer said they were braced for the bill because the number came after the work, not before. A reviewer who got a Saturday-evening call-out that same year mentioned a late fee for the off-hours visit, fair in their view but a real surcharge. And in a 2025 review a clogged garbage disposal turned out to be partly beyond what Legacy could fix; the customer was referred on to another trade, which is honest, but it marks the edge of the scope. The right call for a leak, a dead boiler, a water heater that has let go, or anything that breaks at an hour nobody else picks up — a 2024 reviewer used him repeatedly across a condo in Beverly and a property in Saugus. Get the price confirmed before work starts, and ask about the after-hours rate if you are calling at night.
“We had a tub faucet that was significantly leaking. We were told it could not be replaced by another plumber and would require knocking down an outside wall to remove and entire bathroom demo from there. The faucet works perfectly now, with no leaking,”
We had a Great experience with Rob & Joey. They came over for one small job within 24hours of reaching out. While they were here they alerted me to an additional problem, ran out to their local supplier and came right back and fixed it for us without any hesitation. Fast, efficient and very personable guys. Can’t ask for much more!
The night before our Christmas Party were my wife and I were set to host 75 people I lost heat and hot water. I reached out to Legacy Plumbing and Heating at 1:30 am through their 24/7 phone service line, and at 5:15 am I received a text message asking for additional details. I responded at 6:15 am when I woke up and I asked if I could call him to discuss. By 6:20 am we were on the phone talking through the problem, and by 7:30 am he was at my house to assess the situation. Less than an hour and a half later, Rob was able to diagnose and completely address the issue and restore my heat and hot water. Rob’s responsiveness and willingness to come to my house at 7:30 am on a Saturday during the holiday season, in addition to his professionalism and ability to resolve the issue promptly were top of the line. I strongly recommend anyone looking for a plumber use Rob’s services and I will absolutely continue to work with him and his company going forward.
Had LPH come in for a clogged garbage disposal, they were timely, polite and helpful, even though the entire problem wasn't able to be solved entirely by they fixed what they could and referred me to additional help and were super clean, much appreciated, thank you!
Rob is responsive and really good at his job. Highly recommend!
I would rate higher than 5 stars if I could. We had a tub faucet that was significantly leaking. We were told it could not be replaced by another plumber and would require knocking down an outside wall to remove and entire bathroom demo from there. The faucet works perfectly now, with no leaking, after Rob replaced it- no walls knocked down or renovation required! He also replaced a tub stopper that we were told (by the same previous plumber) couldn’t be replaced and would require knocking down a wall to put a new one in. I can’t recommend this company highly enough. Legacy is now our go-to company for all plumbing needs and it’s great to have someone we can trust.
