Local Electric is an electrical contractor whose website lists a service area from Stowe and Waterbury to Hyde Park, Johnson, Morrisville and Jeffersonville. It says it offers free estimates and 24/7 emergency service. A recent Google customer with power trouble said the company came almost immediately and set them up with power until it could come back the next day, and took care of contacting the Morrisville Water and Light Company to install a new pole; that customer was without electricity for only a few hours. A recent customer said the company fixed an outlet with a short that had sent out sparks when a device was plugged in. A 2025 customer wrote that Dakota and his team pushed through administrative roadblocks on a 400-amp service upgrade. A 2025 reviewer said Andrew and Bryant solved a problem that had left a bedroom without power, one another electrician could not figure out. A 2025 customer who had a bathroom fan/heater installed said they were on the schedule the very next week and cleaned up after themselves. In a 2024 review, a customer said Local Electric connected power from the VEC transformer to the meter and main power panel, completed the wiring to the main panel, and made sure the basement area was swept before leaving. A 2024 customer said Ethan Griggs was professional, responsive and thorough on connecting electricity in a mobile home that also needed its sub panel replaced. A 2022 customer said Ethan put down a drop cloth while installing a recessed light in the kitchen, a job that took about two hours after about 2 months to get an appointment. A 2026 customer whose guests were staying at the house when a circuit breaker tripped said the company has a minimum charge of one hour plus a travel cost, and called $220 for two circuit breakers very expensive. A 2024 customer said a ground-wire installation with a rough estimate of $250 was billed at $468, including an extra half hour they were told covered travel time and gathering parts; that customer called the electricians clean and helpful. A 2022 customer called the company way overpriced with bad support and follow up, and a 2022 reviewer wrote "8 to 10 weeks out."
When were having issues with our power, we called Local Electric who came almost immediately and set us up with power until they could come back the next day to restore us to full power. They took care of everything including contacting the Morrisville Water and Light Company to come and install a new pole and everything else they needed to do.Local Electric was here the whole next day and we were only without electricity for a few hours. I do highly recommend them. They are professional and the estimate they gave us was well within range.
These folks are communicative, diligent, and efficient. I could not generate a complaint if I tried. I am very pleased with their work.
Fixed electric outlet that had a short (sparks had actually come out) when I plugged in a device.
Great communication with office, understood the issues, speedy service, reasonably priced, technicians Matt and Brian were awesome to work with. Many thanks!
Have done lots of work with them, big and small. Always professional job and clear, transparent pricing. Recommend
