Lord Tree Experts says on its website that it has been in business for 61 years and offers free estimates. A Harwinton customer who hired Jon after three years of really bad service from another provider on their 5 acres says Jon Lord shows up on time regularly and moves at a steady pace on his machine. In their second year with him, that customer says the grass no longer has bad areas and they do not have to chase him down when a treatment is due. The same customer says he asks by email each year about another year and recommends a protocol, that changes or substitutions are fine, and that paying early earns a discount. In a 2023 review, a customer said Gregory was very knowledgeable of his work and recommended the company.
VERY UNDERRATED! Come on people, when someone does a fabulous job, pay it forward. I had to suffer through 3 years of really bad service when we moved here to Harwinton before I hired Jon. The first person we called because we heard he did a good job routinely did less than the minimum. We tried to ask for more and were ignored. I watched this person speed around our 5 acres and be off the property in what honestly seemed like 12 minutes. He didn't pay mind to any particular area...he went extremely fast and instead of organized lanes, just zoomed around in very wide passes. He also skipped the regular service schedule so he was always lagging way behind, sometimes it seemed as much as 5 weeks. Really poor. Our lawn looked so bad that I thought it was us or the seed or the sun or who knows. And this legitimate business person was recommended in our local FB chatter. In other words they don't work from home and look out the window like I do, lol. *Finally found Jon Lord and family. Polite, mild mannered. Showed up on time...regularly. Moved at a normal person's pace on his machine steady and thoughtfully. And the grass reflects it! I don't know what he is doing...but I believe he absolutely does and cares to do it. That's all I need to know. This is the second year with him and the grass doesn't have "bad" areas anymore. And we don't have to chase him down every time a pass through treatment is due. He politely asks each year via email if we'd like to do another year and recommends a protocol. If you want to make any changes or substitutions, (ex. we don't have grubs at this time) go right ahead. You aren't going to get an argument. But if you pay early, you will get a discount and you will not be disappointed. I see here that his family has been in business for decades, sometimes the generations to follow don't do as well, not in this case. These are good family oriented people, give them your work...I have never enjoyed moving the lawn so much, no kidding. I don't like being outside much, but I do love, love, love looking out the windows at our gorgeous scenery. Thanks for a job well done!
