A customer who had her old kitchen cabinets refinished in April 2023 noticed what the crew did that nobody asked for: hardware taken off, surfaces cleaned, and the insides of the drawers and their slides cleaned too. Owner Leo Lima had walked her through the process and the materials first. A May 2021 customer put the result more simply — the cabinets looked new, and Lima built a fresh one into an empty space while he was there. LP Painting & Carpentry is Lima's own shop, a sole proprietorship based in the Pinehurst end of Billerica. The Better Business Bureau lists it as twelve years in business at an A+ accredited grade; the Angi and HomeAdvisor profiles say thirteen years, with free estimates and Spanish spoken. The work splits between painting and finish carpentry — cabinet refinishing first, then trim, crown molding, wainscoting, built-in bookcases and mantels, hardwood floors and deck repair, across a long list of Greater Boston towns. Cabinets are what customers write about most. An October 2021 Angi reviewer said Lima took pride in the work and made sure the cabinets came out right; another that month said she loved her kitchen. A December 2021 HomeAdvisor customer described him as full of ideas, attentive to cost and hands-on from the first sketches through choosing fixtures and paint — she said his attention to the details kept her from feeling overwhelmed. Outside work shows up too: an October 2022 condo owner had a roof deck revitalized after replacing rotted planks with composite, with rotted railings and posts and a privacy problem still to solve. Two things worth knowing. The written accounts run from 2021 to April 2023, so ask for a recent reference or two. And the 5.0 ratings on Angi and HomeAdvisor rest on the same eight reviews carried through one network — one set of customers, not sixteen. A good fit for kitchen cabinet refinishing, interior trim and built-ins around Greater Boston, where the prep work and the finish are the whole job. VERY HIGHLY RECOMMEND. Refinished (painted) old installed kitchen cabinets. Owner Leo Lima was very thorough in explaining the process and materials. The crews were on time daily and very thorough in removing hardware, cleaning surfaces and even inside of drawers, their slides and cabinets. Thoroughly covered and sealed off areas and surfaces not to be painted, then lightly sanded, sprayed primer and then finish coat. Staff worked hard and steadily. All were friendly. Daily and final cleanup well done. Would definitely recommend without any hesitation.
We moved into our condo in 2021 and had replaced the old and rotting planks with composite soon after we moved in; however, we were most interested in revitalizing the roof deck altogether â the railing and posts were rotted and had peeling paint, and we had minimal privacy when hosting friends and family. After speaking with several contractors, we were fortunate enough to find Leo, who gave the roof deck a complete facelift! We initially hired Leo to update the siding of our top deck and replace the door leading to the bottom deck. During our first consultation meeting with him, he had brainstormed many design concepts and ideas we had not even thought of that we ultimately went with â we highly appreciated the creativity and effort to make our image a reality. He was incredibly communicative, and we really felt like we were working as a team. We ended up having him replace the railing of our upper deck and added a privacy wall with a beautiful design. He handcrafted the railing and involved us in every step of the design process. He also replaced rotting wood that was exposed beneath the siding, fixed a broken outlet, and completely replaced a rotting window frame. He also put in place LED light strips beneath the railing to create a sense of ambience we didnâ t even realize we were looking for! Leo was always very transparent with the timing of each phase of this project as well as any associated costs. Leo went above and beyond and returned twice after our final payment to add some minor touch ups to ensure the deck was as picture-perfect as can be! We have many upcoming projects in our new home and hope to work with Leo on all of them. We have already begun brainstorming together what we can do with our bottom deck. We would recommend Leo a thousand times over and are looking forward to collaborating with him again!
Everything was explained thoroughly. Customer service was great. The painters showed up on time and were very professional. They were very accommodating.
Leo was great to work with, full of ideas and enthusiasm and very attentive to cost. Always professional and easy to get in touch with, Leo helped at every step in the process, from ideation to choosing fixtures and paint. His attention to all the details kept me from feeling overwhelmed. He coordinated the painters, plumbers, electrician, and advised on tiles and fixtures when I asked. After the initial quote and time estimate, I added several changes that made the final project so much better while only extending the time by only a week (out of six). My kitchen and all three bathrooms are gorgeous, with some really unique touches that didn't break the budget. I feel such a sense of calm and joy when I use them. I would highly recommend Leo to others considering a large or small renovation.
Leo was a pleasure to work with. He was very professional and always easy to get in touch with. He takes great pride in his work and ensured the cabinets came out perfect. Leo went above and beyond what we were expecting when we hired him and Iâ d highly recommend him for other jobs. He was willing to work within our budget and still deliver top tier work!
