Lucas Boegehold runs Stillpoint Custom Construction, a general contracting and finish carpentry business based in the Boston area, founded in 2022 after Boegehold had spent over a decade working as a carpenter in residential construction. The company covers kitchen and bathroom remodels, additions, renovations, and finish carpentry work like custom cabinetry, built-ins, and trim, with recent project work in New London, NH and Cambridge, Newton, and Wellesley, MA. Customers who hired him through Thumbtack describe a contractor who communicates clearly and follows through on complicated jobs. A 2024 review credits him with rebuilding a breakfast nook bench from scratch around relocated electrical outlets and a ventilation vent, and installing mudroom doors and a custom cabinet-and-butcher-block setup over a washer and dryer, while staying responsive and transparent about material costs. Earlier reviews from 2022 and 2023 describe similarly detail-oriented work: a complicated kitchen cabinet install around uneven floors and existing plumbing, converting an old entry table into a kitchen island, closing in a half wall and staircase to an unheated basement, and installing a fridge surround with custom cabinetry. Reviewers across that two-year span consistently mention his professionalism, reasonable estimates, and willingness to work through unexpected complications. His Massachusetts Construction Supervisor license, #CS-118077, is corroborated identically on both BuildZoom and Thumbtack, where it shows as active and current through February 2027. Thumbtack lists an Exceptional 5.0 rating from 18 ratings with 59 projects shown, though the detailed written reviews on file are limited to five jobs between 2022 and 2024, and BuildZoom -- despite verifying the same license -- shows no customer reviews of its own, so the track record so far lives mainly on one platform. This is a small, relatively young operation -- self-reported at 4 years -- best suited for homeowners with a defined carpentry or remodeling project who value close communication and are comfortable hiring based on a concentrated but consistently positive review history rather than a long public track record.
Lucas did an exceptional job on three projects for us. So so glad we found him here! The pictures here are before and after of the breakfast nook bench he built from scratch, where two electrical outlets and a ventilation vent needed to be repositioned. The second project was installing doors/drawers on our mudroom. The third project was installing cabinet, moulding, shelf and a butcher block on top of the washer and dryer. He was responsive, communicates regularly about the progress, and keeps me appraised of the prices of materials he needed. His quotes are reasonable, broken down by materials and labor. He’s honest, just an awesome person to work with, and will be our go to guy for future projects!
Lucas was excellent. Easy to work with and completely understood our vision. He turned an old entry table into a kitchen island and we couldn’t be happier with the result! He even cut a few shelves out for us from the extra pieces of the butcher block top. Would definitely recommend and work with him again.
Lucas was fantastic! We had a complicated kitchen cabinet installation project (we had unlevel floors, pipes to avoid, & needed to make new back panel) and he knocked it out of the park. On top of the quality of the finished project, working with Lucas was a pleasure. He was super communicative, punctual, and quick to turnaround the project. He understood the vision and details after one conversation & then executed efficiently the next time he was here. Thanks again for your help!!
I got several estimates to close in a half wall and drafty staircase to an unheated basement. I hired Lucas because he is very professional, his estimate was very reasonable, and he is detail oriented as he asked many questions about what my project entailed and what I wanted. We hit a couple of snags along the way but Lukas and I were able to resolve with a system redesign. I would hire Lucas again for future projects as I’m thinking of doing a coat/shoe/wall pantry in my mud room.
We hired Lucas to install a fridge surround, including cabinets, cabinet sides, and doors. On top of great communication and professionalism, he does excellent work. I would absolutely hire him again for all carpentry needs.
