What people hire them for spreads wide: porches and decks — a 100-year-old sagging farmers porch torn out and rebuilt in a December 2023 review, a Trex-and-cedar front porch in 2025 — plus basement finishes, whole-house remodels, bathrooms, kitchens, and fine carpentry. In a May 2024 review a client described handing over plans and a 3D model and getting the craft room they wanted, built without displacing them from the house, with crews using iTranslate to communicate and cleaning the dust away each day. That daily cleanup and showing-up-on-time come up again and again, as does staying inside budget. A July 2026 reviewer said the owner and his construction manager "stay on budget and on time" across kitchen and sunroom renovations. A July 2025 customer with water seeping into a basement said Lumi was the only contractor of several to respond, quoted reasonably and finished in a single day. Two things are worth raising before you sign. A March 2026 customer's advice was practical: plan ahead on windows, because city permission takes longer than you expect, and track the approval yourself. And in a July 2023 job an attic ladder fell apart shortly after installation — the owner replaced it with a better one and charged no labour, which is the right ending, but it happened. One discrepancy to be aware of: Thumbtack prints eleven years in business while BBB records the corporation as starting in June 2023. For a homeowner in the Merrimack Valley planning a deck, a porch, a basement finish or a full remodel — especially one picking up a job another contractor left unfinished — this is a strong, currently registered choice. Ask for the permit timeline in writing and confirm which entity and licence the contract is written under.
