M&C Painting is a Quincy house painter built around one person: owner Matt, who handles quotes and site visits himself and stays involved through the job rather than handing it off. The company says it covers Boston's South Shore — Quincy, Milton, Hingham, Scituate, Weymouth, Braintree, Marshfield and nearby towns — and specializes in interior and exterior repaints, cabinet refinishing, deck restaining, and epoxy floor coating. Five-star Google reviews run in an almost unbroken line from 2021 through 2026 — 75 ratings on the platform, and every one of the 41 quoted here. The same details keep showing up: Matt walks homeowners through multiple quote options before they pick one, checks in on-site over multi-day jobs, and takes on work other crews might skip — a three-story, 43-window house built in 1864, an 1890 Victorian that hadn't been painted in 19 years, extensive rotted-trim repair ahead of a full exterior repaint. A 2026 customer racing to list her house before a sale said the crew still finished a day early; several others describe Matt personally following up once the job wrapped. Recent activity backs up the older record — 18 five-star reviews in the last six months, with the same themes: itemized estimates, crews that clean up after themselves, and Matt staying reachable throughout. Its BBB profile carries an A+ grade (M&C is not a BBB-accredited business, which is common among small painting outfits). One BBB customer review describes a 2025 exterior job starting with a power wash using only water, no chemicals, but the review cuts off before saying how the job turned out. One thing worth asking about directly: M&C's own site states Matt founded the company in 2019, but a separate line elsewhere on the same site claims 25 years in business — the two don't square, so it's worth asking in person how long the crew has actually been painting. For a full exterior repaint, a cabinet refinish, or a deck restain, M&C looks like a solid call, especially if working directly with the owner through the estimate and the job matters to you — just confirm current pricing and timeline for your job, and ask about that tenure discrepancy before booking.
I highly recommend Matt and his team! Matt was extremely professional. He met me at my house for a quote to paint the exterior. Matt took time to answer my questions, explain the scope of work, gave multiple options to choose from and was very communicative throughout the entire process. He even answered all the questions my 5 year old threw at him! The finished product looks incredible and completely transformed the look of the house! We’ve been getting nonstop compliments from our neighbors about how good the house looks. The work is high quality and was even completed ahead of schedule. If you’re looking for a “no headaches” contractor, definitely contact Matt!
Matt and team were great to work with, skilled, professional, clear communication and great value!
M&C Painting are fantastic! Responsive and timely, with workmanship better than any other paint company we have used in the past.
Matt was thorough, thoughtful, and happy to work within our budget. He talked about things that be best left for pros and what could wait until later. He was also awesome with working under a timeline that we couldn’t easily control at times! Could not recommend working with him more!
Matt and his crew did such a great job with our house. We even added some things last minute that he was able to accommodate. Highly recommend.
