Mac Home Services LLC is a residential plumbing, gas-fitting and HVAC company operating in the Boston suburbs, run by owner James Jones with a small crew. The Better Business Bureau records it as an LLC formed on 31 March 2024 with four employees, accredited since April 2026 and carrying an A rating. The work customers describe is the everyday emergency kind. In a January 2026 review a homeowner wrote that what she expected to be a simple drain snaking turned into a month of plumbing repairs on a house built in the late 1800s, with the crew working through the holidays, keeping her updated and never upselling. A December 2025 reviewer called on a Monday morning and had a repaired furnace by noon. Other reviews from 2024 and 2025 cover a same-day water heater replacement, sink and washing-machine drain blockages, and a through-wall air conditioner install where the unit had to be ordered in. Reviewers tend to name the people rather than the company - owner James and a plumber called John come up repeatedly, credited with arriving promptly, explaining options plainly and pricing fairly. Two things are worth pinning down before you call. The directories disagree sharply on how long the business has been running: the BBB records it as starting in 2024, while Angi claims eight years of experience and HomeAdvisor twelve. They also list three different addresses for it - Needham, North Billerica and Wakefield. And the licence numbers, including a Massachusetts plumbers and gas fitters number and a BBRS number, come from the directories' own records rather than a registry check made here. For a small plumbing or heating job where responsiveness matters, the feedback is consistent and specific, if thin in volume. Ask which address the business actually operates from, confirm the plumbing licence with the Massachusetts Board of State Examiners of Plumbers and Gas Fitters, and get the quote in writing.
These guys was a life saver when I had an issue with my water heater. I had to replace my water heater and these guys did it all in day. Punctual, excellent customer service and pricing for the service was very reasonable. I am a happy customer! Thank you
What I thought would be a simple snaking turned out to be a month long adventure working alongside James (owner) and John at Mac Home Services. Mac Home was excellent. Immediately addressed any issues, worked steadily (even through the holidays!) to resolve pressing plumbing issues, kept me well up to date, were very reasonably priced all things considered. I would absolutely use them again for any plumbing issues. I can't say enough good things about the experience overall. My house was built in the late 1800s and ad-hoc added on to over the years with varying degrees of professional work and Mac work well to fix it all. I never felt like they were having me on (as a young-ish woman owner) or upselling me on anything. [review truncated on page]
[republished Google review] John has done a few jobs for me and I wouldn't hesitate to use him or Mac again. He went out of his way on one emergency call. He explained options clearly and did great work.
Called Mac home services first thing Monday morning and they showed up within the hour and had my furnace repaired by noon. Great communication and great response time.
[republished Google review] Help needed with clogged drain and washing machine connection. John from Mac Home Services arrived promptly, worked efficiently and addressed the issues. Impressed with his skills and friendly demeanor. Will not hesitate to recommend to others
