On paper the licensing looks current — BuildZoom lists Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration #153770 as active — but the same page lists two older registrations under this name, #134108 and #119911, as inactive and at one point cancelled. None of it was confirmed against the state registry here, and the BZ Score of 100 the page displays is built from permits and licences, not from anything a customer said. The permits are both the reason to take him seriously and the reason to do your own diligence. Ask for the addresses of two recent jobs and call those homeowners yourself, and check registration #153770 directly with Consumer Affairs and Business Regulation before signing anything.
