On Houzz, where it holds 5.0 stars from 17 ratings, the company describes itself as a team of craftsmen, engineers and building scientists who design and install custom insulation. A 2017 customer in Lexington said a 3 person team carefully removed old batts from the basement ceiling of their cape, put in new eco-friendly batt insulation and cleaned up afterward. A 2017 reviewer wrote that the company removed old insulation from a crawlspace, took care of the waste, spray foamed the floor and showed them pictures and videos of everything. A 2017 customer said the company sprayed closed cell foam on their basement walls and advised them on how to meet the building code. A 2017 customer whose insurer sent a notice about ice dams said the company advised on open cell versus closed cell foam and coordinated with the insurance company on a letter, and wrote that there were no ice dams that year. A 2017 customer said the company came in within 3 days to spray foam a sun room addition roof after the building inspector asked for an R-value. A 2017 customer with a cold room above the garage said Josue made sure the insulation touched the floor of the room above, and after one winter called it "a world of a difference." Mass Energy Lab removed some of the old decrepit insulation from our basement ceiling and then replaced it with new batt insulation. The project was easy and done on time. They arrived at about 8:30am and left after cleaning by 11am or so. Allowed me to manage my life pretty well. I'd recommend them for a project like this.
Definitely one of the best contractors on here. Install was a breeze, I wanted them to insulate the utility room behind my basement gym and they got it done without any setbacks except for a 20 minute arrival delay on the day off but they did call ahead of time and were very apologetic so I am good with that.
We have a room above our garage that is absolutely freezing. My daughter uses it to play and we needed a solution to resolve how ridiculously cold it is in that room, anytime after September. We needed a solution and so we called Mass Energy Lab. They were very dilligent about solving our problem and tried to figure out many ways to do it. Going in from the ceiling below, insulation from the floors above and even considering the side. Josue from Mass Energy Lab just wanted to make sure that the insulation is touching the floor of the room above and not just "sitting" on the ceiling below. After all, he said, we want to insulate the room above and not garage. Its been one winter now and what a world of a difference! This summer... we will actually make sure that we insulate the walls of the room as well as the roof of the room to make it really cool in the summer too. I would recommend Mass Energy Lab for any insulation projects
Very worth it and exactly how I like to work. Called them on a Saturday. They called right back on a Monday. Came out on the Tuesday. Sent me a quote on Wednesday and then installed the following Monday, cleaning and all. Very happy with the customer service from the office indeed and a job done to my standards.
Their 3 person team showed up to our little cape in Lexington and did an excellent job of insulation our basement ceiling. They took their time to carefully remove the old batts that had deteriorated over the last 30 years or so after our drop ceiling had been removed and then put in new cleaner eco-friendly batt insulation. They ran a fan the entire time at the behest of my father in law and then cleaned up very well after themselves. Much recommended. Kudos to a job well done indeed.
