New Chapter Home Improvement works out of Cambridge, and painting is the clearest throughline running through its history — years of reviews keep circling back to paint and finish work, alongside smaller carpentry fixes and larger remodeling and renovation jobs. It's a woman-owned business run by Vicki Gray, recognized as the SBA's Woman-Owned Business of the Year for 2026, and it describes itself as a commercial and residential remodeling contractor handling renovations, painting, and finish work for homeowners as well as institutional and federal government clients. The last six months back that up. A May 2026 Google review describes a mold-remediation job as efficient, friendly, and clearly explained start to finish; another from the same week calls the crew thorough, communicative, and easy to work with throughout a project. A January 2026 review covers a bathroom and bedroom painting job where the crew covered everything beforehand, put the rooms back together afterward, and did the paint work well. None of the three most recent reviews are negative, and that lines up with the longer record: 27 reviews collected since 2022 across five different sources add up to a strongly positive average, Google alone shows 4.8 stars from 50 ratings, and the company has turned up in trade directories like the Blue Book since at least 2016. Its Massachusetts Home Improvement Contractor license (#175083) is active with the state, and the BBB gives it an A+ rating — though that comes without BBB accreditation, meaning it hasn't gone through BBB's separate vetting process. Review counts also don't line up perfectly across sources: Google lists 50 ratings, another directory lists 34, so treat either number as a snapshot rather than a complete tally. For painting — a full exterior, an interior room, or finish work tied to a repair — New Chapter has a consistent, recent record behind it. It lists kitchen and bathroom work among its services too, but the reviews on hand describe paint and finish jobs in those rooms rather than full gut renovations, so it's worth confirming the scope of work directly if a larger remodel is what's needed.

I am very impressed with New Chapter Home's work! They were efficient, friendly and expert in both explaining and doing the mold remediation they did for us. I highly recommend them!

I had a great experience working with the New Chapter HI Services. Their team was thorough, communicative, professional, and incredibly easy to work with from beginning to end. They were responsive, decisive, and kept everything moving smoothly throughout the process. It’s refreshing to work with a company that is both organized and genuinely attentive to their clients. I would absolutely recommend them and would gladly work with them again in the future.

They did a good job covering everything in the bathroom and bedroom they were painting. And once they painted, they put things back together just as they had been when they got there. And the painting was done well. Great job!

The entire process from the initial phone call, to the on-site visit and estimate, to the actual work performed was top shelf! And when the work was performed and we didn’t need as much as projected, they adjusted our estimate. We would highly recommend them! Joanne & John Willis
