MassFloors turns up again and again in one particular place: municipal bid results. Needham awarded it the flooring replacement at the high school, and an earlier round of school floors at Broadmeadow, Eliot and Pollard. It came in as apparent low bidder at $94,472.23 on a Brookline Housing Authority job for common-area and apartment flooring. Reading has it on its contractor prequalification list, and Dracut lists it against a bid at $10,552. That pattern tells you who they are. The company describes itself as a commercial flooring contractor that supplies, installs, repairs and services floor coverings for retail, medical, educational and hospitality projects — carpet, vinyl composition tile, luxury vinyl, planks, rubber, linoleum, ceramic and porcelain tile, hardwood, polished concrete, epoxy and terrazzo. They do install; they are not a showroom. But their bread and butter is institutional work, not somebody's living room. Homeowner history here is thin. There's a single Google review, from March, and it's positive: the quote came promptly, the price was fair, and the customer said they followed through and delivered on a flooring installation. One review is one review — not enough to tell you how they handle a residential job that goes sideways. Two things to sort out on the first call. The company appears under two identities: MassFloors, Inc at 500 Grossman Dr in Braintree on the bid documents, and MassFloors LLC in Quincy elsewhere, one listing filing it as a tile contractor covering Quincy and Braintree. Ask which entity would sign your contract. And ask plainly whether they take work at your scale — a crew geared to school corridors and apartment turnovers may or may not want a two-room job. The right call if you have a large, flat, commercial-style floor to cover and want a contractor with a public bid record behind it. For a small residential install, get confirmation they'll take it, and ask for homeowner references — the public track record is real, but it's a municipal one.
