Access Flooring

Access Flooring is a one-person floor-laying business on Verchild Street in Quincy, and by the Better Business Bureau's record it has been at it since 2005 — 21 years. The work is straightforward floor covering: laying new floors, resurfacing and refinishing. The BBB lists it as a sole proprietorship with a single employee and names James Keenan and Darlene Nangle as its managers, with a file opened in 2017. The bureau shows it as Not Rated, saying it lacks sufficient information to issue a grade, and the profile is not accredited. That is a statement about how little paperwork BBB has, not a judgement on the work — there are no reviews and no complaints on the page either way. Outside that, the only trace is a Braintree Nextdoor post from May 2025 that passed the name along when someone asked about carpet installation. A neighbor two towns over knew who they were, which is worth something in a trade that runs on word of mouth, but the post describes no job. So you get a long-running local floor layer with almost no public record. Massachusetts exempts floor-covering-only contractors from home improvement contractor registration, so nothing is missing there. Ask James for a certificate of insurance, a written price per square foot including subfloor prep and disposal, and two or three recent Quincy-area jobs you can go see.
