Mayflower Glass & Mirror is a Brewster glass shop that Cape Cod homeowners and their contractors turn to for shower glass, window panes, mirrors, and tabletop glass — the kind of work that happens in someone's bathroom or living room, not on a construction site. The company says it's been family-owned since 1984 and is run today by general manager Kathleen McLellan; its BBB file lists a start date of 2000, so treat the exact founding year as the business's own account rather than a settled fact. Its Google reviews tell a fairly consistent story. On a three-bathroom renovation, a general contractor's own reviewer called Mayflower the best subcontractor on the job and noted that the owner came by in person to check on the installer's work. Other customers describe the same pattern on smaller jobs — a broken window pane fixed quickly after two other Cape glass shops couldn't be bothered to staff their counters, and a couple of picture windows installed without drama. Google puts the shop at 4.4 stars across 9 ratings, and its BBB file carries an A+ grade (Mayflower isn't BBB-accredited, a separate and unrelated status). One 2022 review is worth reading before calling: a customer says it took ten days just to get a quote for two framed mirrors, that the price came in roughly double what she ended up paying elsewhere, and that pushing back on the cost got her a rude response. Nothing else in the reviews repeats that complaint, but it's specific enough — and recent enough — to be worth a heads-up call to confirm pricing and turnaround before committing to a job. Mayflower reads like the right call for glass and mirror work — shower enclosures, a cracked window pane, a mirror or tabletop replacement — rather than a full window-replacement contractor. Get a written quote up front, and ask how long it'll take to hear back.
We recently redid three bathrooms and Mayflower provided and installed the glass for each shower. They were easily the best subcontractor selected by our general contractor. They were very helpful in considering the options (both on site and at their shop). The installer was efficient and clearly took pride in his work. I appreciated that the owner came back on site during the install to ensure everything was going ok to deliver something to her installer, so that he did not need to break his flow while mid-task. I would definitely use them again.
Very easy to work with, flexible and most importantly they did a very good job installing two picture windows
Mayflower helped me replace a broken window pane - they were quick, professional, and did a good job. Tried a couple other glass shops in town before them and the other shops didn’t even have someone at the shop. Would recommend.
The customer service was awful. Truly. The price quoted--it took 10 days to get the quote-- for two mirrors installed in frames (over $300) was a full twice what I ended up paying elsewhere. When I asked about the price the response was rude. I believe the office manager is the owner's wife and perhaps she has free rein to treat customers any way she wants.
I have used Mayflower for replacement glass for table top and for a mirror. There friendliness, quick turntime, and quality of work is exceptional!
