McInnis Construction does kitchens. Of the twenty permits on file, the great majority are kitchen work: cabinets out and new ones in at 1850 Beacon St in Brookline in March 2024 for $29,115; kitchen remodels in Beverly in 2014, 2015 and 2020, one of them adding a gas fireplace insert and re-connected plumbing; a $49,703 kitchen renovation on Mt Auburn St in Cambridge in 2018; a Billerica kitchen in 2016. Nahant appears once, and recently — an April 2024 electrical permit to wire a new kitchen at 8 Flash Rd. The firm can take on more than a room. In 2016 it pulled a $320,825 permit in Manchester covering siding, roof, windows and doors plus a renovated kitchen, mudroom and full bathroom, with no change to the footprint. That is the largest job on record by a wide margin. Kevin McInnis owns the business, run out of Winthrop. BuildZoom scores it 94 and says it verified two Massachusetts construction supervisor licences, CS-077487 and CS-051123, active in July 2026. Against that, home improvement contractor registration 144425 is listed inactive and at one point cancelled, and four Newton city registrations were last checked carrying December 2022 expirations — the directory's records rather than confirmations. The home improvement registration is the one that governs residential remodelling, so ask about it directly. No customer has written about the work, so there is no rating here. Get the current registration status in writing, and two references from kitchens finished in the past year.
