In October 2026 a customer whose roof Melaragno Services replaced wrote that Dave inspected it and gave explicit, honest details and a very reasonable price, that his crew arrived on time and worked until it got dark, and that they swept thoroughly for nails and protected the landscaping. His on-site manager Nick communicated with them from start to finish, and the dumpster and new gutters were coordinated around the job. Melaragno Services LLC holds an active Connecticut home improvement contractor registration, HIC.0701260, and its website says it has been in business 20 years. In a 1-star October 2026 Google review, a New Preston customer wrote that David Melaragno and his crew came on June 8, 2026 to replace several areas of siding on their 1925 home, and that on September 8 the neighbors found the old siding thrown onto their property in the woods. The customer wrote that there was no follow-up, that they removed the wood themselves, and that they filed a BBB complaint; in an October 16 update they wrote that Melaragno claimed the dumping must have been in error, and that 75 pieces of lumber with nails protruding had been thrown over a fence. In May 2026 a customer wrote that Dave's crew repaired ice dam damage, removing the damaged sheetrock, completing the repairs and repainting. In February 2026 a customer wrote that David did a great job clearing the snow and ice from their roof, and was on time, careful and fairly priced. In a September 2025 review, a customer wrote that Dave identified a persistent attic ventilation problem another local company couldn't figure out and proposed new vents and an attic fan, which his crew installed in one day. In July 2025 one customer wrote that their roof was completed in one day after Dave dealt with the insurance adjuster, and another that their roof replacement took 2 days. In October 2026 a customer wrote that Melaragno Services made their mom's tiny, outdated bathroom bright, fresh and modernized, and noted she also needed ADA add-ons in her shower and for her toilet. The company holds 4.8 stars from 26 Google ratings.
We had our roof replaced by Melaragno Services and it was a great experience. Dave came out to inspect our roof and gave us explicit, honest details of his inspection and a very reasonable price. He is friendly, knowledgeable and professional. His crew arrived on time and even worked until it got dark. They kept our yard clean throughout the entire project by sweeping thoroughly for nails and protecting the landscaping. They are friendly, kind, hard-working, respectful, and take pride in their work. His on-site manager Nick communicated with us from start to finish. Coordination with other services was well planned (dumpster being delivered and picked up and gutters installed). I can’t say enough about Dave and his entire crew. We highly recommend Melaragno Services and we will certainly hire him again for any future projects.
On June 8, 2026, David Melaragno and his crew came to replace several areas of siding on my 1925 home in New Preston. On September 8 my neighbors found all the old siding had been thrown onto their property in the woods where their children have a zipline. Pieces of wood with nails exposed were lying everywhere on the ground. I contacted them that same day and they emailed me to say they would come to assess the site and apologize to the neighbors. Not a single apology or explanation was given to me! My neighbors gave me permission to be on their property, and one week to have David Malaragno come to remove everything. I communicated this to the company and there has been zero follow-up. I am currently undergoing treatment for cancer and am exhausted from radiation, and have mobility issues due to the medication. Today, I had to go into the woods to remove all the wood myself to avoid being accused by my neighbors of illegal dumping. I chose this company because of the excellent Google reviews and was impressed with David when he initially came to the house, especially when he said he had an aunt who had also had cancer, and giving to cancer cure causes was something he did often. They were also supposed to give me estimates for replacing all of the siding on the house and that estimate never arrived. I do not like to have to warn people about anyone in local business. I did not post a review until now in hopes that they would come to clean up the mess, but feel it is my duty to report to the public what happened. I am submitting a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, asking that they be made to come to remove up all the wood I collected. If they do not, I will have the added expense of disposing of it properly myself. UPDATE October 16, 2026 - Melaragno Services has never contacted me to resolve this issue. I filed a complaint with BBB, and Melaragno claimed the dumping must have been in error. 75 pieces of lumber with nails protruding were illegally thrown over a fence instead of removal. There is no way this was an oversight. Having paid them to complete the job, I am now left with the additional expense of disposing of the wood myself. I have warned every contractor, architect and neighbor in my community about their dishonesty. Avoid this company!!! They don't even deserve a one star rating.
David from Melaragno Services is absolutely amazing. They go above and beyond and pay attention to every detail from the start of the project until the end. They are clean, organized, efficient, personable, and guaranteed to their word. I highly recommend them. My mom's bathroom was tiny and outdated. They made it bright, fresh and modernized. She also needed some ADA add ons in her shower and for her toilet.
Can’t say enough great things about DAVE. He has been in the contracting world for years. He understands and knows how to manage projects and exceed expectations. Highly recommend him for your projects!
David and his team are A-1. Calls and emails were answered timely. The job process was thoroughly explained. A positive experience and if anyone is seeking a contractor then Melaragno Services should be one of the top two when making a selection.
