A recent Reddit commenter put a number on it: a 19-square roof for 12.5k, with 20 new sheets of plywood, from Slavin Home Improvements out of Glastonbury — and the advice to ask for Zak. Slavin Home Improvements LLC holds an active Connecticut home improvement contractor registration, HIC.0644307, on the state registry. A recent customer said the crew came at 7:00, was done by 2:30, and put back all the deck furniture. A recent customer said the company fit them in when their home insurance threatened to cancel them over the roof's age. A recent customer who called for an inspection said Mat applied no pressure and explained why their roof was nearing, but not at, the end of its life. A recent customer said the company replaced the roof on a very deteriorated garage and replaced four porch roofs. A recent customer said the work ran from estimate, contract, insurance verification and building permit to a strip-and-replace of roughly 10 hours. A Reddit commenter who said they are a contractor wrote that Slavin is the only one they trust when clients ask for a roof. A 2025 customer with a large, complex roof with copper accents said the old roof came off and the new roof, with ice and water protection, went on within the promised two days. A 2025 customer said the crew replaced water-damaged plywood and installed ice and water shield, new drip edge, chimney flashing and shingles in one day. A 2025 Reddit commenter said the company did their roof five years earlier at very reasonable pricing. A 2024 customer said Zak evaluated their existing roof without trying to sell them a new one.
“Slavin is the best. I’m a contractor and if any clients ask for a roof, he’s the only one I trust. Cares about his clients and a good dude all around.”
“I’ve heard nothing but good things about Slavin home improvement.”
“Slavin home improvements out of Glastonbury. My roof was done just last week.”
“I just did mine, 19 sq roof. It was 12.5k with 20 new sheets of plywood. Giggle Slavin home improvements out of Glastonbury. Ask for Zak they were awesome.”
“Slavin Home Improvement, based in Glastonbury. Did a fantastic job on my roof 5 years ago, very reasonable pricing. I know at least 3 people that have had their roof done by them and all very satisfied.”
I had a great experience working with Slavin Home Improvements for a new roof and gutters. They were timely, polite, and clean. Thank you!
I had a great experience with Slavin Home Improvement from start to finish for my roof and gutter replacement. Matt was great throughout the entire process. I had quite a few questions before moving forward, and he was always patient, responsive, and willing to take the time to explain everything and make sure I felt comfortable with the decisions being made. I received quotes from several other companies, and no one compared to Matt’s attention to detail and follow-up. Willy and his team did an excellent job with the roof. They worked efficiently, were professional, and did a great job cleaning up afterward. Fernando and his team did a great job with the gutters, everything came out looking great. Very glad I went with Slavin for the project.
A fantastic job done from these guys! Super quick and professional.
We had a great experience with Slavin, working directly with Mat. We called for an inspection, and Mat was completely upfront: no pressure, and he didn't assume we needed a new roof. He walked us through what he saw and explained why ours was nearing, but not at, the end of its life. When we decided to move forward, they scheduled us quickly and, on the day of the job, eplaced the entire roof in a single day. The crew was efficient, took care with our property, and left everything spotless. Mat was responsive and professional throughout. Highly recommend, especially if you want an honest opinion and high quality work.
I would highly recommend this company. We've become very careful who we trust to work on our home because we’ve had contractors who mislead us or cut corners. Since I reached out to Zak I felt I could trust him. His team is very honest, will not mislead you, and will follow through with what they say. We are extremely happy with their work and will definitely use them for future jobs.

Typical your area range for this kind of work, from regional averages — not a quote from Slavin Home Improvements. Use it to sanity-check bids, then get the real number in writing.
A square is 100 sq ft of roof surface — bigger than the floor plan because of pitch and overhangs.
