Melvin S. Shapiro

Sixteen permitted projects sit behind Melvin S. Shapiro's name on BuildZoom, and most of them are in Boston — Dorchester, Roxbury, West Roxbury, Hyde Park and Mattapan — plus Swampscott, where he works out of 74 Shelton Rd. BuildZoom lists Shelton Plumbing Co Inc alongside the listing. Licensing is the first thing to settle. The state registry names Melvin Shapiro as the holder of record for Massachusetts plumber licence 7035-PL-M and has it expired, so ask him directly where that stands before scheduling anything. BuildZoom separately lists a Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration, #126903 — a number to check yourself on the state's register. For a plumbing job in those Boston neighbourhoods or on the North Shore, the permit trail is the thing to ask about: which of those sixteen jobs look like yours. Settle the licence question first, ask for a certificate of insurance, and have the scope and price in writing before work starts.
