One written review against ten years of building permits — and it comes from a landlord who hired Michael Comerford twice. He works out of Ann Vinal Road in Scituate, and what the building departments record is mostly roofs. Fifteen permits filed between 2016 and 2025 trace strip-and-reroof jobs in Lowell, Quincy, Dorchester, Boston and West Roxbury, deck rebuilds and railing replacements in Boston and Dorchester, and residing with new porch decking in Quincy. The larger jobs show he doesn't stop at the roofline. A 2019 Charlestown permit covers a $96,500 gut rehab taking in plumbing, electrical, windows, siding and cabinets; a 2018 permit at a Dorchester three-family remodelled three kitchens and three baths for $69,000; and a $120,000 fire-damage repair in Cohasset, issued in October 2025, covers roof framing, replacement windows and doors, electrical upgrades and new baths. The single written account, posted in January 2023, is from a property owner: she wrote that he had installed new roofs on two of her properties, painted for her, and helped with small handyman jobs, calling him "responsive, reliable and trustworthy". A customer who hires the same person twice is worth something. It is still one voice, and it is three years old. BuildZoom lists two Massachusetts licences for him — construction supervisor CS-109856 and home improvement contractor registration 180726 — both shown active when it last checked. That pairing is the normal shape for someone doing structural work as well as residential remodelling, though those are BuildZoom's checks rather than the state's, so confirm both with the Department of Public Safety and the Office of Consumer Affairs before you sign. A sensible call if you need a roof, a deck, or a rehab on a South Shore or Boston-area property and you can live with a written reputation this thin. Ask for two or three recent job addresses you can look at, and current certificates of liability and workers' compensation insurance.
